I have this little site as my hobby. It’s on Shopify bc I like the platform, and it’s easy for me to manage it there. We don’t sell anything. The site is DTCMKG.com I built it for startup DTC brands to use as a resource for agencies, Saas products, and learning resources. Farhat Mahi built it. He did a great job on it. It came out exactly as I had explained, and the work was done lickety-split. He’s also done some non-Shopify site work for others I know. If you need a site, he’s a great resource. My new website is a bodega for five-figure brands that want to become eight and nine-figure brands. On my site you will find the freelancers and agencies that help me build a business with an incredibly high MER and an insane growth rate. I am still working for some Shopify businesses; I can see that certain companies will grow extremely fast and become more corporate. They won’t want somebody like me who doesn’t like to adhere to corporate structure. I’m a startup guy. I like to work and play well with others, but I also want to work in small organizations. So, things will remain the same for the near future, but I could see that I’ll have some significant title/employment status changes at some point in the future. In light of that foreshadowing, I have decided to launch a website. I’m not charging for anything yet. In my opinion, it’s not so easy to find an untapped market these days, a problem nobody solves. Having been the ideal customer for a few years now, I think nobody is solving the problem I aim to solve. What I am creating I do believe it’s somewhat unique: Tool: I looked at the problems I had to solve to bring an American Shopify brand from five to seven and eight figures a month. I don’t know how many of you have been involved in taking a brand from not having its own offices, really many employees at all, at that point to a brand that’s easily recognizable to the most coveted demographic in the world…. American women 25-70( really, it is more significant; I know teens & octogenarians that wear it) Keeping in mind that there’s a lot of stuff I never touched, I pretty much stay in my genre of digital marketing a little bit into customer service as well. Things like returns discounts offer testing, but for the most part, I stay inside of digital marketing; my little palace is a dungeon to the other people in the company, but I like it. Anyway, without further redoing my website, it’s a work in progress. It needs work. Please criticize it so that I can make it better. It’s almost seven days behind schedule already. Someone smart I know asked me the other day to describe what my website will do in as few words as possible. This is what I came up with: “We assist brands in going from making decisions at the kitchen table or in the living room to making decisions in a boardroom without venture capital.” I say that because I’ve driven myself to have the highest MER and YOY growth for every brand I've worked for over the last few years. I never felt like I had to choose efficiency or growth. I always felt you could get both if you just thought it through, executed it, and reviewed the progress and iteration. https://dtcmkg.com

TNKR overview: 1/14/24 Hey all! Thought the time was long overdue for a project update. While it can be tempting to approach social media in a way that only highlights my successes, I strive to give a transparent look into the ups and downs of having a startup. Things don’t always go as planned, and that’s just part of the process. My hope is that by sharing my journey, other founders can be inspired to continue pushing through setbacks and challenges. • Challenge 1: For the last few months, our team has been encountering unforeseen obstacles with uploading the app to the Google Play Store. We wanted to start with the Play Store because traditionally that’s supposed to be easier to tackle, given that Apple has a little more red tape to get through. 9 iterative uploads later, we still haven’t had any luck. We decided that it was time to pivot our approach and have now adapted our focus to uploading on the App Store, a process that is currently underway. The silver lining is that the vast majority of TNKR’s prospective customers do use Apple products, so this will bring as many people on board as possible until we can fix the Play Store issue. • Success 1: The web version of the TNKR platform is fully functional. Integrations for payment processing and shipping have been built in for some time, and a large volume of test transactions have gone through the platform. • Challenge 2: Due to TNKR’s unorthodox transaction flow and consumer touch points, we must tackle things such as escrow/overcharge and sales tax differently than other marketplaces. I’m currently in touch with several attorneys ensuring that absolute legal compliance can be achieved from the start. • Success 2: The TNKR webpage is now up and running! Go check it out at tnkrsneakers.com. This does not boast full product functionality but is more of a landing page for user acquisition. If you’ve made it this far, I hope you’ve gained some insight. Being a founder is both one of the most challenging and rewarding things you’ll ever do. If you have an idea, don’t be afraid to run with it and see where it goes.
