Is this the future stent? Exciting innovation in Cardiovascular Intervention! This week I had the privilege of deploying the next-gen Bioadapter Scaffold (for the first time at our institution), a revolutionary stent that is set to redefine the future of cardiovascular care. The Bioadapter Scaffold takes innovation to new heights, allowing the stent to maintain its vasomotion, preserving arterial pulsatility. In this case, a patient with severe LAD disease underwent a comprehensive assessment using QFR, revealing two tandem lesions with TIMI 2 flow. OCT revealed an interesting finding of ‘honey-comb appearance’ (guess what it is?). We addressed the patient's severe LAD disease by employing hybrid approach: the mid LAD was treated with a drug-coated balloon (DCB), while the proximal LAD received the cutting-edge Bioadapter Scaffold with precision. The DCB ensured drug-eluting benefits in the mid LAD, while the Bioadapter Scaffold in the proximal LAD maintained vasomotion and arterial pulsatility 🚀Let’s pave the way for a new era in cardiovascular health. #CardiologyInnovation #StentsRevolution #CardiovascularHealthcare

The center’s Medical Director, Dr. Uyen Lam, and team, help patients develop heart-healthy habits following a cardiac event. And they get results! In 2023, the center’s cardiac rehab patients decreased their total cholesterol by an average of 23%, and their low-density lipoprotein (LDL) by 32%, among other statistics. Studies have shown that lowering LDL cholesterol reduces risks of cardiovascular deaths, strokes, and heart attacks, among other major heart health benefits. Cardiac rehabilitation isn't part of any routine care pathways for patients with atrial fibrillation. Excited to share results from our single-arm pilot study published in Journal of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation and Prevention. We enrolled overweight/obese patients with AF in a 12-week cardiac rehab-like program at Mass General Hospital. Patients reported improvement in AF burden, symptoms, and quality of life. Notably, cardiovascular care lags in value-based agreements even though hospital avoidance and readmission reduction are areas of opportunity, particularly for heart failure. At the Cardiac Care Alliance, we enable cardiology groups to benefit from their work in value-based agreements. We'll even take the risk for you. Let's talk. Veradigm has one of the largest real world data sets comprised of 53 million de-identified patients. Some interesting findings from the recent Veradigm Cardiovascular Conditions in 2024 report: 1. CVD is the leading cause of death globally accounting for 1 in every 5 deaths in the U.S. and 1 in every 3 deaths worldwide. 2. Between 2018 and 2019 the US spent $240B on medical services, medication, and loss of productivity due to cardiovascular disease. 3. Out of the 53 million patients that had a BMI higher than 30, 46% have high cholesterol and 50% have hypertension. 4. The South (southern states in the US) has the highest prevalence of hypertension, coronary heart diseases, and heart failure. 5. Heart disease is more common in men, non-Hispanic and White communities (compared to women and Asian and Hispanic communities) Time to go for a run! #americanheartmonth
