EK925 - Exceptional Skill
Yes! It has been 5 years since the official discovery of my customer service orientation towards a new skill that had been added to my skills list.
The below flight ticket EK925 from Dubai to Cairo on 19th, Jan 2018 can narrate an extraordinarily destiny story. during this flight I joined Emirates Crew at the plane galley, and we had a nice conversation about their job as flight attendants and the criteria for being chosen to work for Emirates, however they have mentioned that at that time Emirates stopped the recruitment from around 2 years ago till that time.
After this flight within two weeks, I found a recruitment ad about Emirates’s call for hiring flights attendants from all over the world. ‘I talked to myself’ maybe it’s a sign?!!
and as a fresh graduate I’m in a need for gaining interviews experience. although I had low expectations for passing this long and difficult recruitment process, but I applied and went through a long, professional, hard but enjoyable interviews experience with some of the most talented recruiters from all over the world.
Spending around 6 months of useful, difficult and enjoyable interviews. However, I came from a marine engineering educational background totally away from the aviation background, I got chosen from more than 2000 applicants after several interviews, each one of those interviews was a tool to look for "exceptional" (personality, languages, communications, interpersonal and customer service skills...etc).
From this time, I have recognized my proprietary skills in exceptional customer service that had been recognized from one of the best airlines all over the world.
Now, as being a Proposal/ Tender Engineer in the offshore oil and gas industry, owning such skill is compulsory for being distinguished in your area. Managing the tender process with both internal and external stakeholders. reflecting a professional image ... building a fruitful, successful and professional business relationship with clients, suppliers and even if competitors during the project lifecycle definitely requires your exceptional customer service orientation to win the bids and deliver a successful project.
I will always be so grateful for EK925 flight, bless of God, and the perseverance of myself.
