🚀✨ Transforming 2D to 3D: Polygon Extrusion with ArcGIS Pro! 🖥️🔺➡️🔷 📐 What is it? 2D to 3D extrusion involves taking a flat, two-dimensional shape and extending it into the third dimension to create a solid, three-dimensional object. Imagine a simple square morphing into a cube – that's extrusion in action! 🧊 With ArcGIS Pro by Esri, this process is even more powerful and intuitive. 🌐 In the vitalization below I followed the following workflow in ArcGIS Pro where I started with a raster layer: 1️⃣ Creating a polygon vector Grid 2️⃣ Using Zonal Statistics to compute the mean raster value per polygon 3️⃣ Using extrusion to visualize the vector in 3D (Needs to be in a Scene) There are several different options on how to extrude your vectors, which are visualized in the video below. 💡 In general, why is visualization in 3D helpful? - Enhanced Visualization: Bring ideas to life, spot design issues early. 🔍👓 - Rapid Prototyping: Test and iterate quickly, saving time and resources. 🏎️🔧 - Improved Communication: Clearer understanding for better feedback and collaboration. 🗣️🤝 - Precision and Accuracy: Ensure exact dimensions and geometries. 📏✅ - Geospatial Context: Place 3D models in real-world settings for better analysis. 🏙️🌳 🤝 Let's spark a conversation! How are you leveraging 3D visualizations in Esri products? Share your insights, challenges, and success stories below. Let's amplify our collective GIS capabilities! 💬💡 💡 🌟 #PointClouds #Esri #Sustainability #GIS #DigitalElevationModels #SpatialAnalysis #TechInnovation #ArcGIS #remotesensing #imagery #3D #EsriDeutschland #mapping #EarthObservation #ArcGISPro #ImageAnalysis #esrivoices🔍 🚀 🌱

Let's continue in the world of 3D visualization in MapInfo Pro. In a classic 2D map, you often represent some features as a point. This could be light poles, trees, or other features with a small footprint. When moving to 3D, you probably want to show these features similar to how they look in reality. You can do this by replacing your point layer with a 3D shape in the 3D map. Read more in the article below #MapInfoMonday #MapInfoPro #GIS #3D #SpatialAnalytics

ONEGEO Director | Providing clean and reliable worldwide Building Data for Analysis and Visualisation
Are you struggling to choose between Geospatial and 3D building data for your projects? Both have unique strengths and weaknesses, and understanding these can make all the difference in your project outcomes. Geospatial data, typically 2D, is perfect for providing clickable footprints and attributes, making it ideal for high-level analysis. Pure 3D data formats are more suited for visualizations that require complex shapes, such as spheres, and are commonly used in the gaming and movie industries. But they can't be placed on a map like geospatial data. However, you can have the best of both worlds! Formats like KML, Collada, and GLTF combine the strengths of geospatial and 3D data by including geospatial information and 3D shapes in a single file. Opt for 3D building data if your project requires a realistic visualization of cityscapes or landscapes. It can provide more insight than traditional 2-dimensional maps and help you make better decisions. Are you ready to make better decisions with the right data format? Check out onegeo.co for clean and comprehensive worldwide 3D building data ready to use in GIS analyses or visualizations. Do you think the choice of data format can significantly impact the success of your project? Share your thoughts! #GeospatialData #3DBuildingData #ONEGEO #GISAnalysis

İlk videomuz "3D vizuallaşdırmasına tanıtımdı" (Introduction to 3D Visualization). Bu videoda 2D dən 3D -yə keçid, ARCGIS PRO ilə gələn yeniliklərlə tanış olacaqsınız. Hər hansı bir sual yaranarsa bizə yazın. Videonu bəyəndizsə dostlarınızla bölüşə və kanalımıza abunə ola bilərsiz. CIS bölüşdükcə böyüyür. ESRI kurs kataloqundan linki sizinlə paylaşırıq: https://lnkd.in/e5QzkhzJ... Those following the GISMAN channel, we're thrilled to announce the launch of a new video series, commencing today. Our focus will be on providing detailed insights into various courses offered by ESRI. Our inaugural video, titled "Introduction to 3D Visualization," delves into the fascinating realm of transitioning from 2D to 3D, highlighting the groundbreaking innovations presented by ARCGIS PRO. ArcGIS Pro empowers users to seamlessly interact with data in both 2D and 3D environments within a single application. This functionality allows for a comprehensive examination of the same dataset from both perspectives, unlocking new insights. The ability to visualize data in a 3D space facilitates realistic representations, provides alternative viewpoints, and aids in identifying patterns and trends that may remain obscured in a 2D environment. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. If you find the video engaging, consider sharing it with your friends and subscribing to our channel.
