Add a Community Manager to your social media dream team! Can a Social Media Manager also do community management? Yes. But, community management is its own full time role. This role: 🙌 Actively engages with your audience as your content goes live. 🤗 The ability to pick up on conversations happening about your brand in real time and help your SMM translate those sentiments into ways to continue building brand trust and relationships with your audience. 🤩 Can facilitate customer care to both positive and negative experiences your consumers are having and turn them into brand advocates from their quick action. Stop adding community management as an additional checkbox for Social Media Managers. Social Media Managers and Community Managers work in lock step to engage and build community. By adding a Community Manager to handle building up the personal relationships with your brand audience, you free up your Social Media Manager to do what they do best. Create kickass content and strategy that moves the needle in reaching your target consumer.
Community engagement is now the #2 requested service from my clients, which is AMAZING that they're so in touch with how important it is to be social on social! 🤗 In terms of tracking engagement MoM and seeing the effectiveness across channels, I've used Sprout Social and Agorapulse and those seem to be the best two platforms for community engagement reporting. What do you recommend for social listening? Agora just added that capability and Sprout's is good but expensive. Always love hearing what other social marketers are using!
Let's normalize social media teams, instead of one-does-it-all social media manger! 📣
Community Managers are a necessity because marketing strategy should reach beyond content creation. That getting someone’s attention is one thing, keeping it is another, but maintaining an organic relationship with your audience that’s the goal for growth and longevity of any brand. Otherwise you’re getting burnt out Marketing Managers wearing a ridiculous amount of hats. This post is sooooo relatable. Thank you Jada S.
Honestly, this is so underrated. I’ve been doing community management for my clients because it’s needed. So many brands just want to delete and ignore. The problem never goes away.
this is what we doo doo best.
I had a meeting with a nonprofit to help leadership understand that a community manager is not a social media manager. This far in to the profession people still think a social manager is a catch all, even in some large organizations. You need a team to see gamechanging results!
Community management is vital yet often underrated. Thankfully, more brands are now hiring community managers.
You know how I feel about this…💯

3wCommunity management has grown SO much since I started working in social. It used to be replying to comments and passing off complaints to customer service. It's now it's *own* industry. Outbound community management (engaging outside of your "owned" channels) could be a job by itself. I'm a big proponent that community management is as important as your content. It should be a priority and your brand should invest in it.
