Has anyone else read the recent issue of Graphic Design USA? A friend introduced me to this magazine a while back, and it is something I now look forward to in my mailbox! It focuses on print design, and there is a lot of exposure to great branding - both big and small. Check out the latest issue below:

🗡️🏹🪓 Lately, I have been admiring pixel artwork because it evokes memories of early video games from the 8-bit and 16-bit eras. Of course, I had to give it a try for myself! I first tried it out on characters, but the idea of using a nature theme was very appealing to me - and what better inspirational nature reference is there than The Lord of the Rings? Thought I’d share some work here that I‘ve done in #AdobeDimension! The integration with other tools like Aero, Photoshop, and Illustrator is so exciting. From creating drink mock-ups, an army of Daleks, stylized scenes/backgrounds, and a 3D isometric office, it has been fun seeing what the capabilities are. What I like most is the ability to create for AR inside of Dimension. What have you created with Dimension? I’d love to see!

Motion design friends! My connection Jen is hosting this super fun collaboration. If you have the bandwidth, come join us. 👊 ✨
HUNGRY? I'm hosting an animation/sound design collab! Finals are due September 1st, so you have some time to recreate a vintage food ad, more info in the Discord (link to the Discord Server/collab space channel below in the comments)! This is going to be FUN! Bon Appetit! 🌭 How it works: Everyone who wants to join picks a vintage food ad to recreate/break up in any way they want to animate (max 13 seconds, with a 3 second hold on the image at the end), and everyone gets paired with a sound designer who handles the sound effects and music! (And please repost this, if you think motion designers in your network would be interested!)

I'm happy to share that I've been 'leveling up' my After Effects skills with the LinkedIn Learning Library. I completed After Effects CC 2023 Essential Training, and the course provided a refreshed viewpoint of its tools and capabilities. I look forward to applying what I learned to future projects. . . #levelup #aftereffects #motiondesign #motiongraphicdesign

At my new job, we use the Microsoft 365 Suite, so I decided to brush up on some basic skills. Does your company use the Microsoft 365 or Google Suite? #presentationdesign #microsoftpowerpoint.

Is there anything more satisfying than wrapping up a personal project that has been in your brain for a while? Well, not for me anyway! Bowling animations can be weird, funny, and/or cool. I love 80s designs; the colorful and energetic visuals would be perfect for cosmic bowling. When I have time, I hope to add more animations to this project. Had a fantastic time at the #AAMSummit2024 and met some amazing people! The Dine & Connect event was definitely the highlight for me. Spending a couple of hours having dinner with a small group was such a great way to connect with like-minded individuals. My group included marketers, a photographer, and vendors from Introhive.

I'm happy to share some freelance client work that was recently finalized! Over the winter, I worked with Chihiro at Empathic Oaks Productions to create a nostalgic and laid back music video for their lof-fi track 'Breathe In'. I edited footage that they captured and incorporated some hand-drawn animations. They were fantastic to work with, and I loved seeing how their vision turned out.
