I once worked for an organization that initiated 'People Month'. As a young HR leader, I railed against 'just one month' being focused on people. What I learned however, is that that one month provided an opportunity to elevate the conversation about people, people strategy, value and recognition and proved a great catalyst for positive momentum. Like 'people month', Pride month brings a focus but genuine commitment to inclusion is ongoing. Here are some good tips to help employers maintain that momentum to provide a place where people feel that they belong and can bring their best selves to work.
Pride Month has just come to an end, but this doesn't mean that the commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusion should! For our LGBTQ+ staff, Pride represents the freedom to be their authentic selves at work, creating an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.
