We are honored to announce that Charlotte Martin, director of Access Initiatives and Lynda Kennedy, vice president of Education & Evaluation, have co-authored a chapter in the recently published book Evaluating Accessibility in Museums: A Practical Guide. Demonstrating their commitment to accessibility, Charlotte and Lynda outline how our Museum staff has actively sought input from people with disabilities through project partnerships, advisory groups, and the use of new technologies. 📘 : https://bit.ly/4bIWEJJ

We are saddened by the passing of Joe Engle at the age of 91. A pioneering astronaut, Engle made history by becoming the first to fly two different winged vehicles in space. Engle served on Apollo missions and played a crucial role as the test astronaut for the space shuttle Enterprise, validating its ability to glide and land safely. Over his incredible career, Engle logged nine days, eight hours, and 30 minutes in space, circling Earth 149 times. With Engle's death, all 12 pilots who flew the X-15 are now deceased. We remember and appreciate his significant contributions to space exploration. 📷 : @NASA
