Over the past few months we've been shining a light on people who've worked with us for a while. Even before smoothie bottles were invented and all we had were soup spoons, ladles, and our hands. Well, this week's in the limelight takes us to our Tom. Someone who's a bit fresher to Fruit-Towers and doesn't like to brag too much. So we thought we'd do that bit for him.
When he's not out on a cold rainy Tuesday with the innocent footie team. He's out making dashboards so dazzling, that he landed himself our Best Newcomer award. So for you lot just starting out, or wanting to make a change, check out what Tom has to say. And see if you fancy something new.
Thought for the day:
It's been a while.... because it's been busy! I took the time to sit last night and think about everyone that I have the benefit of working with and why I was determined to work here! Let's be fair, we have all trundled through Glassdoor when looking for our next venture, cringing because we have applied for the "low star" employee rated company - actually, we have all fallen for that trap.
So why here?....
The team that care so much about getting it right for the business that we all work exceptionally hard and often mental hours, to get it done?
And when I say we... I mean we! I have never come across anyone at 6sense who has said they can't help! - the worst is that they can't help right that second. But yet guaranteed they are offering help within the space of 4 or 5 days. And that's the secret to success. That's why we are successful - there is a magic potion:
1. The employees care
2. Everyone helps each other out
3. When things get tough, we battle through the storm - notice each other/ remember we are human
4. We believe in what we do, and aren't afraid to do what we believe
5. We imagine where not just we but everyone else is going to be in 3 months/ 6 months/ a year
So as we approach FY'25 I just want to say - we did it before, we did it again and we do it better every year.
Thank you team!
And for those who can't relate - go find your magic potion! It's somewhere!
Oh and if you need help finding it, I have heard AI can be pretty awesome ;-)

Hero Vired Exposed: The Shocking Truth.....!
Myth 1: The Job Bonanza 🦸♂️
"Remember the grand promise of 8-10 job opportunities
during the program? Well, let's just say that the superhero job hunt hasn't
quite gone as expected. Despite the constant email bombardment with job requirements, it feels like being stuck in a never-ending Google form abyss. No interviews, no super gigs. Zero. Zilch. Nada. 😞"
Myth 2: The Magical Teaching from Scratch 🎩
"From scratch," they said! But instead, it's more like a DIY data science puzzle without all the pieces. Our beloved trainers seem to have vanished into thin air, leaving us to seek enlightenment from the oracle of YouTube! #MagiciansOfDataScience 🧙♂️
Myth 3: The Lavish Salary Packages 💰
"Ah, the golden promise of a hefty 10 LPA package. But hold your breath, dear learners, because finding someone who actually secured it feels like a treasure hunt with a broken map. X marks the spot, but that treasure chest is nowhere in sight! 🗺️💼"
Myth 4: The Ticket Resolution Wonderland 🎪
"Oh, the mystical land of 24-hour ticket resolution!
But beware, once you enter this circus, you might never escape! 'All our agents are busy,' they say. But do they ever call back? No, they vanish like smoke! ☁️🎟️"
Myth 5: The Elusive Support Hotline ☎️
"In times of distress, fear not, for the dedicated executive shall be your guiding light! Or so they say... The hotline rings, and we eagerly wait for that hero to save us from our troubles. But alas, it's just a recorded voice saying, 'We will call you back shortly.' We wait, we hope, but the call never comes. ☎️🙁"

There's always a back-and-forth, but things are never black and white. Compromise is key!
I'd argue that one of the most important aspects of my job is knowing how to navigate people, places, and things. I'm very proud of this skill because it has allowed me the opportunity to help IIG move things forward that were stuck before me and foster and create better, stronger relationships with others to accomplish what we needed.
Early on, I ventured into an entrepreneurial endeavor and got involved in a multilevel marketing company where I actually did pretty well for myself. (Created a second stream of income of $60k+ a year)
To this day, I still use the skills I acquired during that experience when working with people and building my own team. I stumbled across this book last night while spending my evening at Barnes & Noble, looking for some new reads.
In that book I saw this chart below, showcasing different types of people, and it reminded me of what I learned early on in sales.
There are 4 types of people:
1. Shark: Sharks are the Mark Cubans of the world, and they love to win. Find how this product will serve their ego of winning, and you will most likely speak their language.
2. Urchin: Urchins are the Warren Buffetts. These individuals get excited about data and analytics. We all know those types! Show them the facts and spreadsheets, and they are happy!
3. Whale: Whales are the Oprah Winfreys. These types of people were always my favorite because their decision-making revolved around helping and caring for others. I will never sell something I don't truly believe in or think could cause any harm, so whales are my vibe. People come first!
4. Dolphin: Dolphins are my second favorite. Richard Branson is the Dolphin in this category. They are all about having a good time. When I recruited my team, I always had dolphins and sharks on it. The team either wanted to win or have a good time.
Now, regarding the attachment below, this takes my analysis to another level:
1. Red = Shark
2. Yellow = Dolphin
3. Green = Whale
4. Blue = Urchin
Think about the people you work with, know, or even customers you recently sold to. What gets these people excited, and how do we get them on that 'yes' train? I'm absolutely fascinated by this stuff and think it's so cool to sit back and analyze past interactions and attempt to label what type of person they are.

Last week we talked about our first jobs. It seems most of us were generation supermarket, with a bit of waitressing thrown in.
My girls started selling stuff on Vinted this weekend. Gen Z, naturally. So far they’ve banked enough to buy a small yacht 🛥️
Something I noticed is that it took them all of five minutes to get to grips with everything - the app, the rules, what sells well. Boom. They were competent in the time it took me to make a coffee.
It made me think back to times when I’ve felt out of my depth in a new role.
Two memories spring to mind.
The first was when I was a new-ish prison governor and was left in charge of the jail for the first time. I went to the loo, wanted to be sick, but instead gave myself a pep talk in the mirror. I can feel the nerves now just thinking about it! I was fine though, and came to love being duty governor each week.
The second was in my early weeks at Network Rail. We had to deliver a workshop to the company CEO and his top team. I was mostly rubbish in the practice sessions. Nerves, and the pressure of being the new girl. My boss stuck with me though. Cue the pre-event loo visit, wanting to be sick but opting for the mirror pep talk. I was fine once we were in the room, and am fortunate this was another job I came to love.
This week, I’m working with a client who wants to dedicate some time to preparing for his new role. We’re going to come up with his ‘first 100 days’ plan, starting with a blank piece of paper. I can’t wait ✨
I’m curious as to how he feels about his first day. It’s only human to feel the pressure isn’t it, no matter how old or senior or experienced you are?
Does a time spring to mind when you felt out of your depth in a new role?

We grow each year in experience which doubles our lives may this new year brings many good memories which you can cherish for years to come. My best wishes to all people known and yet to be known for a very special 2024…cheers !!! #marketresearch

On Jan 2nd, I said something that shocked my team…
If we don’t grow at all in 2024, that’s okay.
For context…
I am always pushing my team to do their absolute best work.
And we grew 7x in 2023, gaining incredible momentum.
So why turn around & say ‘it’s okay if we stagnate’? 😅
Because:
1) I wanted to take the pressure off 😮💨
2) I trusted my team not to slack 🤝
3) We’re profitable with no investors, so don’t have to grow 😌
Guess what happened…
January was a record breaking month for Simmer 💥🚀
And how are the team doing? They’re absolutely buzzing 🤣
We never expected to be in this position 🤷🏽♂️
And that’s why we’re so grateful that we are 😌
So whether in business, or in life…
Remember:
Happiness is where our reality exceeds expectations.
So don’t put so much pressure on yourself.
Underpromise & overdeliver, always.
There’s a version of you that can barely believe how far you’ve already come 🧡
Here’s to another month of growth (but not at all costs!) 🚀
