Will we act solely on behalf of the things we can profit from? I get the feeling we're failing big time. Our children face a grim future, and we are to blame. There's far more than you can do, and even the little actions have a huge impact. I swam in the middle of the Atlantic, surfed its massive waves and snorkelled on a lost island off the coast of Borneo. I stood still in the shallow waters of the Azores as thousands of lives swam around me. On each occasion, I felt deeply connected to this one world - the one and only we have - and an added responsibility to nurture it. Most importantly, will we be able to solve the mess we've created? #oceans #environment #climatechange #marinelife

The next big wave in the fight to save our ocean (sic). It is after all one ocean (check your charts). Great to see the ocean getting the recognition it deserves for the heavy lifting it does for every living thing on this planet. Do you know how the ocean is minimising the impacts of human induced climate change?

I invite you to read the latest issue of TIME magazine. It describes the effects of climate change on the oceans, the effects of human activity and the importance of creating marine protected areas. It also describes the complexity of the interaction in marine ecosystems and the importance of increasing biodiversity, here I rescue the following quotes to reflect on: "Whale poop fertilizes ocean plankton. The plankton reproduces rapidly, absorbing carbon dioxide as it photosynthesizes sunlight. Eventually it sinks to the seafloor, trapping the planet-warming gas in layers of sediment." “It is a delicately balanced ecosystem that includes bacteria, algae, plants, clams, crabs, urchins, herbivores, and the carnivores that keep them all in check. Take one element out, and the entire system becomes unstable.” “Lush underwater gardens full of large animals were being turned into dead reefs overgrown by brown algae and murky jellyfish dystopias”. “The more nature we have, the more nature will be able to absorb our impacts.” I fully support the creation of marine protected areas, but we must also mitigate the effect that humans cause in the oceans in a major way, not tomorrow…TODAY #environmentalmitigation #sustainability #marineconservation #innovation

.'The Earth Needs A Good Friend' 'When you support Friends of the Earth, you fuel the fight to protect people and the planet over corporate profits. Like when you convinced major garden retailers like Home Depot and Lowe’s to say no to bee-killing pesticides. Or when you pushed the Obama administration to stop selling off our public lands to Big Coal. And when you stopped what would have been the biggest coal export terminal in North America -- preventing nearly 1,000 coal shipments through the Salish Sea each year. Together, we’re working to build a system that promotes clean energy and solutions to climate change. We’re fighting for a truly safe and healthy food system. And we’re protecting marine ecosystems and the people who live and work near them. We've been defending the Earth and fighting for a healthy and just world for more than 45 years. But we need your help to keep going. Become a friend of the earth and join the movement to protect our planet and all its inhabitants.': https://lnkd.in/eCMRM2Ay

📋📊 Advanced Clinical Solutions 🩺⚗️🧬 Life Sciences 🔬🧪 Biopharma Excellence 🧫💉 Medical Devices 🎓✨ Harvard U., Indiana U. Med. Center
🌍 Happy Earth Day, everyone! As we celebrate and commit to protecting our beautiful planet, let’s talk about how digital health technologies are playing a crucial role in making healthcare and pharma industries more environmentally sustainable. 🌱 #EarthDay #ProtectOurPlanet Reducing Carbon Footprint: With remote patient monitoring and decentralized clinical trials, fewer patients need to travel to healthcare facilities or trial sites. This significant reduction in travel not only saves time but also reduces carbon emissions associated with transportation. Efficient Resource Use: Digital health tools like wearables and telehealth platforms help in continuous monitoring of health conditions without the need for frequent in-person visits. This leads to optimized resource utilization, reducing waste and conserving energy. Promoting Sustainability in Pharma: The integration of digital technologies in the pharmaceutical industry has streamlined many processes. From digital databases that minimize paper use to AI-driven systems that improve the efficiency of drug development, the environmental impact is considerably lessened. Wider Impact: By supporting remote healthcare, digital technologies facilitate broader access to medical services, especially for remote communities, without the need to build and maintain multiple physical facilities. Let’s unite for our one and only home. Together, let's harness the power of digital innovation to sustain our planet’s health while improving our own. Let’s make every day Earth Day! 🌍🌱 #DigitalHealth #SustainableHealthcare
