Revolutionizing #eFuel production in Europe ⚡ 🌳 INERATEC and Groupe SOLER will build a Power-to-Liquid plant in Southern France to create a highly efficient value chain for e-Fuel production across Europe. This partnership not only contributes to the preservation of our forests by only using sustainably sourced wood but also leverages the untapped potential of forest residues. The value chain, which uses both wood and renewable energy as resources, includes the following steps: 1) The process starts with SOLER's cutting-edge pyrolysis technology, which converts forestry residues into biocarbon and simultaneously produces synthesis gas. While the biocarbon is used to replace fossil coal as first product from the value chain, the syngas is purified. 2) The CO2 from the syngas is fed into INERATEC's Power-to-Liquid plant, where it undergoes a reaction with hydrogen to produce high quality hydrocarbons – better known as e-Fuels. 3) The e-Fuels are supplied to hard-to-abate sectors such as aviation, road transport and shipping. 💡 The entire process is engineered to utilize 95% of the biomass’s carbon, maximizing the use of natural resources while aligning with the growth cycle of the forests. This project is a significant step towards the holistic approach to achieving carbon neutrality. #NextEra
