Global Health | Health Systems Strengthening | Policy Advocacy | Strategy Execution | Program management | Writer | Speaker
Over the last year, I have been closely working with other #Global Collaboration Partners to address health inequities that were laid bare by the #COVID-19 #Pandemic, #emerging infectious diseases, and the interconnectedness between #climate change and health were increasingly recognized. I have learned from colleagues, partners, and systems on the importance of robust #health systems and global #cooperation in responding to health crises and the mentioned inequities. Health is not a preserve of a few privileged ones! Thus, a refocus on the global health system was necessary. I am happy that in #Kenya the health shifts have been momentous! From curative focused healthcare to an integrated #preventive and #promotive health provision. The base of the pyramid, #PHC has been reinvigorated and recalibrated. From Primary Care Networks to Compensated, Digitized, Trained and Kitted Community Health Workers (#CHWs) named Community Health Promoters (CHPs) in Kenya. But are we winning? That is why a balanced #scorecard on health has never been more necessary! Are we focusing on the client needs, improving internal health processes, focusing on innovations and learning in health as well as ensuring that we still make our stakeholders- investors, governments, donors and partners happy. We have to be bolder, tackle these issues head on and win together.

In Africa, addressing Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) necessitates inclusive strategies for health equity, increased domestic funding, and integration into national health agendas. Gender-sensitive approaches, multisectoral collaboration, and community engagement are crucial for eradicating NTDs and achieving universal health coverage in Africa. Efforts focus on marginalized populations to ensure equitable healthcare access and sustainable progress in combating NTDs. The need for NTDS inclusion and support in Africa can't be overemphasised. #BeatNTDsInAfrica #HealthForAll #EndtheNeglect

MSH's Amy Boldosser-Boesch joined civil society advocates and health care professionals at today's UN High-Level Meeting on Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness, and Response (#PPPR) to urge governments to invest in #UniversalHealthCoverage and #PrimaryHealthCare as a critical pathway for detecting and containing outbreaks at their earliest stages as well as for sustaining the equitable delivery of essential services during health emergencies. Governments must prioritize the voices of people and communities by institutionalizing social participation in decision making, to ensure that processes for pandemic planning and response are inclusive and participatory, and to strengthen governance and accountability for PPPR and #healthsecurity. #healthequity #HealthforAll #PandemicPPR #UHC #PHC L-R: Justin Koonin (UHC2030 - Taking action for universal health coverage and The George Institute for Global Health), Leandro Cahn (Fundación Huésped), Margot Nauleau (Save the Children International), Cary James (The World Hepatitis Alliance) and Itai Rusike (Community Working Group on Health Zimbabwe)
