With more applications of cameras to be carried by robotic arm to visualize or to be installed in a factory environment where some kind of shock and vibration are unavoidable apart from camera being rugged, lenses should also be rugged and have a stabilization option. This stabilization is seen differently in commercial devices with lenses dictated to move it's optical elements with the camera to achieve good images avoiding blurr or so. But with Machine Vision applications lenses are made rugged withstanding a certain shock and vibration and these lenses are bonded internally to prevent individual elements from moving and affecting the optical axis. Image position shift will be very minimum or negligible. We Online Solutions deal with companies like Navitar, Schneider-Kreuznach who offer these kind of lenses. These lenses help in repeatability of consistency to capture images and process.

At #automate this year you can expect to see vision and product inspection systems that often use line scan cameras to capture images of each product as it moves with the conveyor. The complete image is captured one row of pixels at a time, and the interval between exposures must be timed precisely to avoid distortion from too many or too few pixel lines.
