While many are still talking about #carbonneutral mobility for #trucks, we make it happen! As a development partner of DEUTZ AG, IAV has successfully integrated a 7.8-litre hydrogen engine into an 18-ton medium-duty truck. Part of the #HyCET (Hydrogen Combustion Engine Trucks) research project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport, the timing for this couldn’t be better! Trucks powered by #hydrogencombustionengines directly help OEMs to lower their #CO2 fleet targets after the EU classified such carriers as “zero emission vehicles”. 💧💨 IAV GmbH has taken charge of the #systemsengineering and carried out for DEUTZ the selection and #integration of all hydrogen components, the interconnection of all systems via a gateway control unit as well as a prototype safety concept – finally providing an entire hydrogen #vehicleconcept ready for road-use. 💡 The first test drive has been completed flawlessly and shows that hydrogen combustion engines can play a sensible role in #decarbonizing road #freighttransport and #logistics. 🌍🚚 Besides the integration work, IAV has supported DEUTZ by taking over a part of the calibration work at the hydrogen-engine #testbenches at our #development center in Gifhorn. 👉 Do you have similar technical needs or are you curious for more detail about the HyCET project?
