Explore Part 1 of our look at Entra (Fertec Pty Ltd) micronised gypsum and why it is superior to bulk gypsum. For those who don't know, micronised gypsum is better than bulk screened gypsum primarily due to its smaller particle size, which significantly enhances its solubility and reactivity. The finer particles of micronised gypsum have a larger surface area compared to the coarser particles of bulk screened gypsum. This increased surface area allows micronised gypsum to dissolve more quickly in soil moisture, making calcium and sulfur more readily available to plants. The improved solubility ensures faster and more efficient nutrient uptake, leading to better soil structure and plant health. Additionally, the higher reactivity of micronised gypsum means it can more effectively amend soil conditions, such as alleviating soil compaction and reducing sodium levels in sodic soils. Over the last 60 years development and understanding of Calumite has been continuous. This research and understanding started back in the early 1960s with the paper below being published in 1976 by W. Simpson giving a overview of Calumite and how Calumite improves refining in the glass furnace as well as fuel utilisation. The full paper can be seen at: https://shorturl.at/hAMO5

ION DUST SHIELD creates a safer work environment by reducing the fine dust in the air. Check out this article from Asphalt Pro Magazine to learn more about this innovative technology!
Is it possible to mill with less dust? 🤔 BOMAG Americas ION DUST SHIELD, in addition to BOMAG’s dust extraction system, reduces hazardous fine dust by 88% using an electrical charge to clump particles into coarse dust for safe disposal. Check out how it works at the end of this video. Read about how two companies in Canada are using Bomag’s ION DUST SHIELD to make their job sites safer for not only their milling machine operators, but also their paving crews and area pedestrians: https://lnkd.in/diyx3YbA

Event Director connecting the people who plan, design and build the future of where we live, play, learn, work and recover!
Silicosis, a significant industry concern, has prompted the government to consider a potential ban on engineered stone benchtops. While this industry employs approximately 8,000-10,000 Australians, they represent just 0.7% of the workforce exposed to silica and silicosis. It's fantastic to witness collaboration among engineered stone industry suppliers as they strive to prevent a complete ban. Instead, they're championing restrictions on engineered stone with silica levels above 40% (with a vision to further reduce it), while also prioritizing education, safety practices, and regulations. Their forward-thinking approach seeks to establish standards applicable to all materials, ultimately bolstering safety for the remaining 99.3% of silica-exposed workers. #silicosisawareness #industrycollaboration #workplacesafety
Banning engineered stone benchtops alone will not effectively address the issue of silicosis as it fails to acknowledge the 99% of workers who are also at risk of silica exposure. To truly combat this problem, it is crucial to support a comprehensive silica safety plan.
