Lately, I've been getting a lot of requests to help with creating and updating CVs for job searches. Very often, job seekers don't pay enough attention to their LinkedIn profiles, which can have outdated information or show little activity ✍ If you're actively looking for a job and haven't updated your LinkedIn in a while, I recommend doing the following: 1️⃣ Switch your profile into English if you're seeking jobs globally. 2️⃣ Write a "selling" or eye-catching headline under your name – this is the information recruiters most often see first, and it’s your way to stand out among other candidates. 3️⃣ I often recommend adding a "Featured" section – for me, it's a great way to learn more about a candidate, their achievements, and to see media materials that aren't listed in the CV. 4️⃣ Work on the "About" section, tell a little about yourself, your strengths, interests, etc. If it's hard for you to write concisely, run your CV through ChatGPT – it will help with structuring, which you can then adapt to suit your needs. 5️⃣ Unless you're a Netflix developer who can wrote in their experience description: "I created this button," it's better to detail your experience using the XYZ formula. 6️⃣ It's preferable that your experience in the CV matches the information on LinkedIn. Once, I interviewed a candidate with a CV for a People Ops position, but their profile listed experience as a marketing specialist. There's nothing wrong with this because you can look for jobs in different domains, but be prepared to be asked about this discrepancy. 7️⃣ Don't forget to add skills – recruiters search by skills too, and this way you can get into the funnel and also assess yourself if you see a relevant vacancy. LinkedIn matches your skills with those requested by the employer. 8️⃣ There's much debate about the "open to work" banner, but the main thing you should remember is that LinkedIn's algorithms prioritize these job seekers higher than those not actively looking for a job. If you're a recruiter or hiring manager, share whether you look at potential candidates' profiles on LinkedIn and what you pay attention to first 👀

Career & Mindset Coach | I Help Migrants Land Jobs in Australia With No Local Experience through Modern Job Strategies | LinkedIn Top Resume Voice | Featured in SBS Australia
LinkedIn has more than 15 million open job listings. But most job seekers don’t apply on time. Unlocking this will help you get jobs faster. ↳ Under 10 applicants helps you filter for jobs that currently have less than 10 applicants. Here’s how can you activate it: ↳ Got to LinkedIn search ↳ Search by “job title” ↳ Then select “All filters” ↳ Activate the “Under 10 applicants” filter. Now you will see the jobs with fewer than 10 candidates. Why is this effective? Companies have KPIs that compel recruiters to present candidates as soon as they can. Sometimes being the most qualified won’t count if you’re late to the party. Get to the recruiter’s resume pool early. Speed matters in the job search. #jobsearch #linkedinoptimization #linkedinprofile #careers -------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you found this tip helpful, 🔄 Repost it to help another migrant. As an employer, do you use the "Easy Apply" feature for your LinkedIn job postings? At face value, this makes sense. Right? ▶ Candidates have been crying out for years that they want the application process to be simpler, take less time, and be less redundant. ▶ If the process is quicker and easier, you get more candidates applying to the role. ▶ If more people are applying for a role, you should get the best options and fill the job quicker. The logic is pretty simple. Unfortunately, there is a major flaw in this system. ▶When there is little to no barrier of entry in applying for a role, you will get more candidates. But....that doesn't mean you are getting more qualified candidates that are genuinely interested in the position or your company. ▶They didn't have to research your company to see if they were interested in your mission, products, culture, values, salary, benefits (the list goes on). They didn't have to commit any time to apply, so they probably didn't commit much time to research you (not always the case, but bear with me). They just had to click a button. ▶You also are going to waste a lot of time feeding through irrelevant profiles. If you were in no way qualified for a role, why would you spend time filling out an application? You wouldn't (most likely). ▶ Here might be the BIGGEST POINT. You are going to deter qualified candidates to apply when your posting gets 100's of applicants. In their minds, they have a very small chance now. Furthermore, if they do apply, you might miss them in all the other candidates. It's kind of like dating apps. If you are looking to get the most people interested in going on a a date (or something else), make it easy. If you are looking for people that are genuinely looking for a relationship or love, might want to make the barrier a little harder (no offense to people that have found love through these apps. I have been to many Tinder weddings). Lastly, I am not saying to make the application process take 30 minutes. But two seconds isn't the answer either. Let's find some middle ground.

I have an opinion that might be unpopular, but it could help many job seekers out there: LinkedIn's "Easy Apply" feature does work! There, I said it. While most job-seeking advice advocates a more black-and-white approach, there's not much discussion about "Easy Apply" - the grey area of job-seeking. In my experience, #jobs posted with this feature have a lower chance of being ghost jobs since they're mostly high-priority openings. If you're an immediate job seeker or not having much luck through LinkedIn, follow these steps that have helped me land #interviews for desired roles through "Easy Apply": 1. Review the company profile and job description before hitting that tempting "Easy Apply" button. Ensure the salary range, location, and work mode align with your preferences. 2. Be among the first 20-30 candidates to apply. Early applications increase the chances of recruiters reviewing them. 3. Reach out to the hiring manager or the HR team immediately if their email addresses are available. Keep your message concise, attach your resume, and mention the LinkedIn job opening. 4. If email addresses aren't available, visit the recruiter's profile and use tools like GetProspect 🇺🇦 to find their contact information. 5. Create an email template, customizing it with keywords from the job description before sending it out. 6. Monitor your applications to see if recruiters have performed an action on your application but haven't been in touch. Send a follow-up message within the first three days and another after five. 7. Maintain a spreadsheet tracking all applications, ensuring you're prepared to discuss the job profile or company during recruiter interactions. 8. If you still don't receive a response, don't be discouraged. It's possible that the position has been filled, or the recruiters don't consider your profile a good match for the job criteria. Remember, this is just one job opportunity. My main advice would be to always reach out immediately after applying for a job through #EasyApply. This way, you increase the chances of receiving a call or email from the recruiter. Make sure to prep well, speak well, and not put a job on a pedestal. While you should invest significant effort in those highly desired positions, "Easy Apply" can be effective if you're open to exploring other work forms in your industry/profile or require immediate employment. Give it a try, but ensure your resume, email, and cold message are top-notch. Good luck! #jobsearch

Struggling to find your first job in tech? Don’t worry, I am too. But, while looking for my first job, I tried a few different approaches over the past couple of months. I could say that I have two good techniques that you have most likely not considered. I received more than three times the number of responses I would have received if I had simply applied to job listings. Let me share them with you. 1st technique: Email companies directly. If you want to send out a large number of CVs per day, you may have difficulty finding job postings. While looking for junior front-end positions, I can roughly find about 5 per day. So I thought that another way to find a job would be to send an email to software houses, companies, and employers who have previously looked for similar employees. Here's my approach: - Find companies through Google Maps, job boards, LinkedIn, and other places. - Browse through their website and try to find the email for HR or recruitment. - Send a short, formal email that describes your interest in working for the set company. Remember, make it short. Most likely, the recruiters don’t have a lot of time, and they can only spend a couple of minutes per email. 2nd technique: The longer I am looking for a position, the more I think that it depends on who you know rather than what you know. So I came to the realisation that I needed to build my connections. This is what I do: - Find events that you can attend locally or online. I highly recommend using this website: https://www.meetup.com/. I have personally found lots of cool events where I have networked. - Use LinkedIn as a tool, not just as social media. Discover recruiters and headhunters and connect with them, but make sure that you send them a message. You might just find the right opportunity! - Join Discord and Slack channels. There are plenty of cool and interesting groups with passionate people who you are able to network with. Finally, don’t forget to create a spreadsheet where you can collect all your information. I know that it takes time, but at least you will know which leads to follow in the feature. Just to make it easier, I have created a spreadsheet that you can use to track your recruitment process. https://lnkd.in/dWmfii7f. Give it a try. Share your effective job search techniques in the comments below! Feel free to message me. I'm passionate about creating new things and learning about cutting-edge technologies. The job search industry has some serious problems. 1. Domain-specific job boards are increasingly necessary 2. Resumes are becoming obsolete 3. Job search platforms monetize users #1 Domain-specific job boards are increasingly necessary: Any technically specialized individual as come to find increasingly domain-specific job sites. In fact, it's a growing business model. There are job boards for ethnic groups (hirelatinos.org, hispanicjobs.com, etc), specific technical domains (works-hub.com, scalajobs.com, etc), specific organization types (bwork.com, wellfound.com, etc). For modern job seekers, sourcing jobs is a nightmare, and jobs are gated behind an account, meaning job seekers find themselves creating accounts to apply to jobs, or in some cases, even to search on a specific platform. This development has made finding specialized job seekers endlessly difficult and expensive for recruiters as well. #2 Resumes are becoming obsolete: To make things worse, job seekers often find themselves filling in profiles for job boards, despite all relevant information commonly being found on their resumes. Workday jobs, for example, requires candidates to fill in their career information individually for every job they apply for. Resume parsers help, but they have their limitations. #3 Job search platforms monetize users: To make matters worse, job sites often monetize from job seekers. This can mean showing promoted listings or requiring a subscription fee. The incentive is to create a job search site just good enough to make you think you might get a job, but not good enough to get you one. If you're familiar with looking for a job on LinkedIn, you'll find yourself being shown jobs that already have several hundred applicants. I've seen listings with over 1,000 applicants. LinkedIn will show you jobs you think you can get, and you make very well be qualified, but your a small fish in a big sea, while other jobs you might qualify for with fewer applicants, you're rarely shown. #conclusion: I'm building a job search engine to fix these issues called Jobgun. More details soon. Thanks for reading my rant. #jobpostings #communication
