Bird flu has been detected in wastewater around the Houston area, Harris County Public Health officials said. The source of the Bird flu, or H5N1, found in Houston water between March 1 and May 13 is unknown, media partner ABC 13 reported. Officials confirmed there have been no human cases of the virus in Harris County.

Houston City Council unanimously passed a proposal that would eliminate bureaucratic hurdles to cut down on speeding in city neighborhoods. The proposal would allow the city to designate certain parts of speed cushion projects as priority areas, making it possible for certain portions of the projects to move forward even with limited funding.
