Future electric motors will exceed speeds of 30,000 rpm and existing electric motor test benches are typically not equipped for this challenge. Therefore, a test bench concept that can be modularly adapted to the respective test requirements plays a key role in this transition. High-speed motors offer increased power density, smaller engine volumes and improved efficiency, which are essential for electric vehicles. Testing ensures the motors' reliability and performance in these demanding applications. A modular test bench system can test electric motors up to 30,000 rpm and accommodate the changing requirements for higher speeds and power. This system provides the flexibility to adapt to customer specifications and offers a range of options, including climate chambers, short-circuit boxes and more. A quick-change system and high-accuracy alignment concept can ensure precise alignment of test specimens on the test bench. The system allows for fast and accurate alignment outside the test cell, significantly reducing test bench downtime and ensuring low-vibration operation.
