Last week at World Aviation Festival in Lisbon I shared some insights about Payments and Risk Management.
For those who could not attend the event, take note of main ideas shared:
📱 Mobile Payment is the new standard, either in online or offline purchases. Once mobile devices have become an “extension of human body”, any technology that helps to improve mobile experience at payment step well deserve to be analysed (wallets, biometric, tap on phone, click to pay, etc…). Having you anything interesting to show, please contact Bruno Grilli Arrese-Igor (Payment Product Owner) or Jaime Gallo de Cal (App Product Owner)
🔃 Orquestration capabilities linked to BNPL providers will be key to maximize customer conversion for those customer segments that either need or like paying in instalments. If you want to know more about our BNPL aggregator layer powered by Iberia Cards, please, contact Rafael Murillo Carqués
🛑 Risk Management is more than ever based in Data and Balance. A proper data exploitation (trends and behavioural analysis, robotics, IA, etc…) will allow merchants to stop any bad actors at a minimum impact in sales. But we should always maintain great collaboration, as Christelle Brenin said and like the one we maintain with my IAG collegues such as Annette Matthews
💪 Payment Transformation is key in International Airlines Group (IAG)… and having the opportunity to learn from all OpCos regularly is one of the most attractive things of working for the group. See in the picture a nice representation of IAG OpCos Payment Team (Charlotte Dumesnil and Catia Silva at Vueling, Charlotte Smith at British Airways, Fabien Mollinari at AerLingus and myself at Iberia)
🌐 Travel and Payment requires a global and diverse mindset: Having payment experts that really understand the Travel vertical is key for doing business with airlines. At the same time, airlines payment managers should always keep an eye into e-retail payment trends, as there are many things we can explore for improving payment experience at our multichannel, multicurrency, multicountries and more than ever diverse customers. Chiara Quaia, Esperanza Fernandez, Erik Knoester, Cristina Canonaco, Colleen Finch Schmidt or Alvaro Diez, among others, well know about it.
It has been a great WAF. I hope you like my notes.
