I am back with another rant! Let's continue to talk about something that's been on my mind lately: job offers. More specifically, the importance of knowing the salary range in these offers. Recent research suggests that seeing a salary range in a job posting affects a whopping 91% of a candidate's decision to apply (source: Social Talent). It's not just about transparency, it's about respect and valuing a person's worth. 💼💰 In my experience, knowing the financial return upfront allows us to make informed decisions. We invest our time and skills into our roles, and understanding the monetary value associated with an opportunity saves everyone time in the long run. So here's a thought: What if we made it a standard practice to include salary ranges in job offers? Not only would this create a more open dialogue between recruiters and potential candidates, but it might also streamline the recruitment process. #SalaryTransparency #Recruitment #CareerGrowth

🚫 Don't Let Salary Expectations Hinder Opportunities 🚫 It's frustrating when candidates disclose their expected salary before an interview, only to be rejected later due to those very expectations. This practice not only wastes the candidate's time but also reflects poorly on the hiring process. Candidates often feel pressured to reveal their salary expectations upfront, fearing it might affect their chances. However, when they do so, they should reasonably expect fair consideration based on their qualifications and fit for the role. It's disheartening to see candidates being disqualified solely based on their salary expectations, especially after they've proven themselves during interviews. Employers, let's remember that candidates are more than just numbers on a paycheck. They are individuals with unique skills and experiences that can contribute significantly to our organizations. Instead of prematurely dismissing candidates based on salary expectations, let's focus on assessing their qualifications, fit, and potential contributions to the team. If a candidate excels in these areas, we owe it to them to have an open and honest conversation about compensation. By prioritizing fairness and transparency in our hiring practices, we not only ensure a positive candidate experience but also attract and retain top talent who feel valued and respected. #Hiring #CandidateExperience #Fairness #Transparency #Opportunity

Should employers disclose salary information in job postings? I believe providing salary ranges upfront could benefit both employers and applicants. It would help set clear expectations about compensation and prevent wasted time low-balling candidates or going through multiple interviews only to discover the role pays less than expected. Openness about salaries allows candidates to make informed decisions and negotiate fair offers. In the past, companies may have felt reluctant to share this information. But attitudes are shifting - Providing pay transparency reflects a modern, progressive approach to hiring. By adding salary ranges to listings, we can move one step closer to a hiring process built on trust and clarity. So, next time you're drafting a job post, consider adding that salary range. This is why I don't ask a candidate what their current salary is. Here is what I have experienced in my personal job search and what I've learned working in Talent Acquisition so far. Asking what someone is currently making: 🔻 is just plain intrusive 🔻 is not necessarily reflective of the value they could bring to your organization 🔻 doesn't provide you "market intelligence" 🔻 can further equity concerns if someone is not paid what they should be currently Instead, I ask what people's expectations about comp are: ✅ it's just plain respectful ✅ allows them to demonstrate that they know their worth and the market ✅ can help address equity issues that may exist ✅ it usually leads to a reasonable and transparent conversation #talentacquisition #recruitment #candidateexperience

Dear Recruiters, It's a new year, so let's make a new commitment. Share the salary information in the job posting! A candidate shouldn't have to go through 3 rounds of conversations only to find out that your job is paying LESS than what they currently make. #salary #jobseekers #jobpostings #recruiting #humanresources #nextlevelcareercoach

I think we should refrain from requesting candidates' previous salary information and payslips to determine their new compensation package. You have a budget in place and have assessed their capabilities during the interview process, so offer them accordingly. This practice is prohibited in many countries as it can lead to discrimination. What do you think about this? #Copied #Change #Bestpractice #Opportunity #Freshgraduate #Career #Careeropportunity #Engineering
