Wise words from Jackie Reilly, a student at Bastyr University. Spoiler alert: SHE PASSED!! 🎉 “Less than one week out from NPLEX I, my first licensing exam, where I demonstrate my competency in everything I’ve spent the last 2.5 years learning. Anatomy. Biochemistry. Physiology. Histology. Embryology. Immunology. Pathology. Infectious Disease. 🙃🤪 I’ve never felt so grossly humbled. The more I learn, the more I realize how much I do not know about the human body. How much there is TO learn. It’s a terrifying realization, but also a beautiful opportunity. To forever be a student of this practice. To realize that I’ll never get bored attempting to understand. Every time fear rumbles throughout my body, that I’m not good enough, that I’ll fail, I have been reminding myself of this opportunity. I am reminding myself that I work harder than most people, for the sole purpose that I strive to become the best provider I can possibly be for my future patients, because they deserve all of me. And like them, that is what this test will receive from me, regardless of its outcome. That’s all I can give and that is enough. For that is what I am, enough.” Here’s to being the best doctors we can be for our patients 💪 #naturopathicmedicine #nplex #boardexams #licensingexam #futuredoctor #medicalschool #medicalstudent #medstudentlife #medschool #medschoollife

The Gall bladder The gall bladder is a specialized portion of the bile duct. It is shaped like a small sack to store bile. It has an absorptive epithelial lining to concentrate bile. And it has a muscular wall to expel bile. The epithelial lining of the gall bladder consists of simple columnar cells specialized for absorption, with an apical brush border of microvilli, very similar to intestinal absorptive cells. However, unlike intestinal epithelium, gall bladder epithelium includes only this single cell type. #gallbladder #anatomy #microscopy #histology Sources: HISTOLOGY at SIU: Bile ducts and Gall Bladder.
