“The Military Order of World 🌎 Wars” Military officers who have retired or are still in service possess a wealth of experience, knowledge, and leadership skills that can greatly benefit the Military Order of World Wars (MOWW). By joining MOWW, these officers can continue to serve their country in a different capacity, leveraging their expertise to contribute to the organization's mission of promoting patriotism, fostering goodwill, and advocating for a strong national defense. Their participation adds depth and perspective to the discussions and initiatives within MOWW, enriching the experience for all members. Moreover, retired and active-duty military officers play a crucial role in mentoring the next generation of leaders within MOWW. By sharing their insights and guidance, they help cultivate a new cadre of patriotic and principled leaders who are committed to serving their country and upholding its values. Through mentorship programs and leadership development initiatives, these seasoned officers can impart invaluable lessons learned from their own military careers, shaping the future of the organization and the nation. Beyond MOWW, military officers, both retired and active, should also consider joining a variety of civic organizations and professional organizations. These affiliations provide opportunities for networking, professional development, and community engagement, allowing officers to broaden their horizons, stay connected with fellow service members, and make meaningful contributions to society. By participating in diverse organizations, military leaders can gain new perspectives, foster collaboration across different sectors, and promote positive change in their communities and beyond. In conclusion, military officers who have retired or are still in service have much to gain from joining the Military Order of World Wars, as well as other civic and professional organizations. Through their involvement, they can continue to serve their country, mentor the next generation of leaders, and contribute to the betterment of society. By embracing these opportunities for engagement and collaboration, they uphold the values of service, patriotism, and leadership that define the military profession. Completing Christopher Fussell's ‘One Mission’ has been a transformative journey on leadership and the intricacies of team dynamics. The crux? Credibility isn’t solely anchored to titles or accolades. It’s a profound blend of competence, unwavering integrity, and forging meaningful relationships. Drawing inspiration from this powerful playbook, I recently had the privilege of guiding a dialogue among a group of future Army battalion commanders. Our spectrum ranged from the precision of Special Forces, the agility of Aviation, the backbone of Logistics, to the compassionate care of Army Nursing. Using Fussell's playbook, we collaboratively sketched out our vision for constructing a genuine “team of teams,” where synergies amplify results. And as if ‘One Mission’ wasn’t enlightening enough, I’m currently navigating through 'Risk,' by Stan McChrystal. Already, it promises to be a reservoir of insights that I can't wait to incorporate into our leadership paradigms. In essence, these aren't mere books; they are the architecture of revolutionary leadership. McChrystal Group truly represents a Team of Teams and my engaged conversations with leaders across their organization have further solidified that truth. Geoff Tokajer, MBA, MS, USMC D-A-D said it best yesterday, McChrystal Group is a great team. #mcchrystalgroup #MG #teamofteams #onemission

I have never worked with an effective team that didn't leverage productive conflict. Building a culture that honors the benefits of conflict may not be easy, but it doesn't have to be hard. Here's why it matters: ✨ Conflict ➡ Creativity As Rick Rubin says, "Friction allows the fire to come." Teams that challenge each other, dig in on ideas, and make space to contradict the status quo are more creative and more effective. ✨ Conflict ➡ More trust and connection The most psychologically safe teams I work with have figured out how to use conflict to build trust and create connection with peers. ✨ Conflict ➡ Growth When people have the space and confidence to contradict and conflict, growth happens faster. Plus, studies show that establishing healthy conflict styles (instead of avoiding conflict all together) increases employee happiness and satisfaction. Join NextGen Center on Wednesday 5/22 at 12pm for a 30-minute session on HOW to make conflict productive. Joe is one of the best at high-impact, practical frameworks that you can implement immediately.
I'm so excited to have this conversation with Retired Colonel and NextGen Center advisor, Joe LeBoeuf, about approaches to Productive Conflict: Getting it Right vs. Getting Along. 🗓️ Date: May 22 ⏰ Time: 12:00 PM EST 📍 Location: Right here on LinkedIn We will discuss invaluable lessons about: 1) Navigating Conflict: Strategies for resolution vs. harmony. 2) Lessons from the Field: What the Army can teach us about leadership in civilian life. 3) Practical Tips: How to 'get it right' instead of just 'getting along.' Please register to join our conversation, and we look forward to seeing you there! https://lnkd.in/e5YWnhUi
