Did you know that this week is International Happiness Week at Work?  So, what better reason for our #QuoteOfTheWeek to be our very own vision statement: "Our vision is for everyone to love their job and enjoy being at work." - Andrea Law It’s a win-win for both employees and employers when people love what they do. Our jobs take up a huge chunk of our adult lives, so  why not do something that makes you happy and gives you purpose? And, for employers, happy workers = happy customers = successful business. But it’s also a win for society in general too... The International Week of Happiness at Work is an initiative originating in the Netherlands. This initiative aims to underscore the importance of happiness in the workplace. It is believed that when employees experience happiness at work, it positively impacts their roles as parents, friends, colleagues and community members, ultimately contributing to a better world. As Oscar Wilde once said, "Be yourself, everyone else is already taken", so who is Rachel Palmer? 👩 After five rewarding years in a HR generalist role, I found my true calling and took a leap into this incredible role of Engagement, Wellbeing & Inclusion Business Partner for ERIKS UK & Ireland in February of this year and what a journey it has been so far.  ❓ You might ask, what is my job? If you asked my husband, he'd tease about me talking all day and how can that really be a job! However, I call it being inquisitive! 🛣 I'm on a mission to understand, connect, and support our amazing colleagues. My role involves implementing plans for wellbeing, creating spaces for sharing stories, and establishing support systems—all geared toward fostering an inclusive environment. In simple terms, it's about putting plans into action. ✈ My career wasn't always in the HR field. With 18 years in the travel industry, I got to explore the world whether working on cruise ships to inspecting hotels, it was all about learning about the different diverse cultures and meeting people.  🔉 Whilst I no longer get to travel the world, my passion still lies in interacting with people and understanding what makes each individual unique and them! ❤️ Beyond my role, my heart still belongs to travel.  Always deciding where to visit next – it is a big world out there!.  And a word of warning, if you mention travel, be prepared for a million questions – I love to learn where people have travelled to and where they are going! 🗺 Travel, for me, is the ultimate wellbeing reward—a chance to switch off and recharge. ⁉ I'd love to hear from you! At Santa Fe Relocation, we believe in celebrating traditions while also embracing sustainability. 🌱 That's why during our recent annual party at our warehouse, in celebration of the Dragon Year, we decided to put a fun twist on an old tradition! Our fabulous HR colleagues organized a team competition using old, used Ang Pau envelopes, turning them into something creative and innovative. It was incredible to witness the creativity and teamwork that emerged as our teams came together to transform these envelopes into unique creations.
