#AgriTech Breakthrough: NanobOx's Game-Changing Nanobubble Innovation Dublin's own nanobOx has just infused the agriculture and aquaculture markets with fresh potential, securing a $1 million injection from The Yield Lab, DeepIE Ventures and Growing Capital to power its pioneering nanobubble technology. This leap forward could redefine efficiency in gas transfer to water, a boon for multiple industries. Why It Matters: 💧 NanobOx's tech paves the way for massive energy savings, using less power than a lightbulb. 💧 With 90% oxygen-transfer efficiency from ambient air, it far outstrips the less than 20% efficiency of current methods. 💧 The tech targets the $50 billion water aeration market, ripe for disruption with more sustainable solutions. Market Impact: $ The funding win positions NanobOx for accelerated field trials and the potential to reshape the economics of water treatment processes. $ Companies focusing on sustainable, energy-efficient technologies may find new investment favorable and strategic partnerships vital. $ Innovations like this can attract further R&D and open markets for high-efficiency, low-energy solutions. The Takeaway: NanobOx isn't just tweaking current methods; it's steering the industry towards smarter, more sustainable practices with implications that extend far beyond its Irish roots. For investors and industry players, take note - efficient and eco-friendly technologies are not just the future, they're the present. Today the startup teams of batch 6 of the Circular Economy Accelerator program visited Lhoist Group, the world's largest producer of lime and dolomite products, at their quarry in Wülfrath. We would like to thank Tobias Dickmann and Dr. Martin Volmer for their hospitality and interesting insights into the company's activities. It was made clear by them that as part of the basic materials industry, Lhoist's products can be found in countless downstream value chains. Applications include steel and iron, agriculture, construction, animal hygiene, animal feed, sugar processing, renewable energy, rail transport, fluid gas treatment, drinking water, e-mobility, chemical industry, civil engineering, data centers, wastewater treatment, and the glass industry. They also emphasized that sustainability is at the forefront of Lhoist's activities. Since CO2 is an unavoidable by-product of the calcination process that turns limestone into lime, the company is seeking solutions for carbon capture and storage technologies and renewable energy. Lhoist also aims to increase its involvement in circular processes by recycling, reusing and valorizing waste streams to create new business opportunities. Consequently, there was a great deal of mutual interest between the lime company representatives and the startups, which was reflected in the number of questions asked afterward and by the many business cards exchanged. #siliconvalley #circularvalley #circulareconomy #gigaimpact #sustainability #homeofcirculareconomy #accelerator #startup #kreislaufwirtschaft #heimatderkreislaufwirtschaft #nachhaltigkeit #rheinruhr
