En route to #aquanor2023. Fish-related stuff is really not up the Esgian alley (yet), why visiting is, thus, a legit question 🐟 Aqua Nor" is a well-known international aquaculture exhibition that takes place in Trondheim, Norway. It is one of the largest trade fairs dedicated to aquaculture technology, equipment, and services. #Aquaculture has the potential to synergistically coexist with #offshorewind, especially floating, presenting a promising avenue for sustainable offshore development. The industry is truely technology driven and agile with efficent and safe offshore processes. Moreover, several solutions can prove a reduced carbon footprint 🌍 🌿 Those are reasons more than good enough for Esgian Offshore Wind to pay closer attention to what's moving. See you in Trondheim spectrum! Aquanor | Mørenot Aquaculture | Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) | Aarhus University

🌊 Celebrating #WorldOceanDay with the #ULTFARMS: Transforming Low-Trophic Aquaculture 🌊 On this World Ocean Day, we are excited to spotlight the groundbreaking ULTFARMS project, a pioneering Horizon Europe Ocean Mission initiative that is set to revolutionize the future of Low-Trophic Aquaculture (LTA) systems in an #OceanMultiUse context. What is ULTFARMS? 🦑🍃 ULTFARMS is dedicated to optimizing the production of #LTA systems in challenging offshore conditions and low-salinity environments. By integrating innovative engineering, technical, ecological, and biological processes, the project aims to create a profitable, sustainable, and ecological production chain of low-trophic level species, such as seaweed and molluscs, within offshore wind farms (#OWF) in the #North Sea and #Baltic Sea. Project Leadership and Consortium 🤝 Led by Deltares, an independent institute for water and subsurface research based in the Netherlands, ULTFARMS is a 42-month project that began on January 1st, 2023, and will conclude on June 30th, 2026. Our consortium comprises 25 members from 9 different countries, bringing together stakeholders from across the OWF and LTA value chains. The Vision of ULTFARMS 🌐 ULTFARMS aims to enhance Europe’s low-trophic aquaculture capacity through innovative processes designed to optimize production in harsh offshore environments. By integrating LTA systems within Offshore Wind Farms, ULTFARMS strives to produce environmentally responsible and commercially viable LTA products. Our focus on developing new cultivation structures, grow-out systems, and eco-friendly designs marks a significant leap forward in sustainable offshore aquaculture, promising benefits for both the environment and the economy. 🌏 Join Us in Celebrating World Ocean Day! 🌊 Explore more about the ULTFARMS project and how we are contributing to a sustainable blue economy. Learn about our innovative approaches and join us in our mission to transform offshore aquaculture. 👉🏻Check out our website for more information: https://ultfarms.eu/ Together, we shape a sustainable and thriving marine environment. 🌿✨ Mission Ocean European Commission CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency VLIZ - Flanders Marine Institute Universiteit Gent SUBMARINER Network for Blue Growth EEIG

Celebrating BrantaSae, the innovative online platform transforming water quality data collection in the Brantas Basin, launched in 2022 through a collaborative effort involving Brawijaya University, Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen, Deltares, and Delft University of Technology. It has gained significant traction as the sister site of climatescan.org and received support from the Brawijaya University student association during Water Day 2023. In July 2023, it drew nearly 500 entries for the BrantaSae Challenge from users upstream and downstream. . Looking ahead, Brawijaya University remains committed to addressing water quality gaps. However, it's crucial to acknowledge the diverse perspectives of local communities and governmental agencies regarding BrantaSae's functionalities. . We invite you to join our session to explore its progress and understand the importance of stakeholder input in its ongoing development. 🗓️ Wednesday, October 11th, 2023 ⏰ 16:30–17:45 WIB | 11:30–12:45 CEST 📍Hopin (RingCentral) platform 🔗 Registration link: bit.ly/winner2023reg (FREE event with certificates available) #WINNER2023 #BrantaSae #WaterQuality #EnvironmentalScience #BrantasBasin #CommunityEngagement #Sustainability #DataCollection #ClimateAction

Last week, Angelo Sartori, senior director, regional engagement, Diego Ezcurra, manager, methodologies, participated in the second #ArgentinaCarbonForum. Over the past few years, the region has seen a strong interest in carbon markets from both newer and experienced project proponents. In a panel titled “New Types of Projects: How to Diversify Project Portfolios and Reduce Risks,” Angelo highlighted the great potential of nature-based projects (ALM, ARR, and REDD) in Argentina due to its forestry situation and land availability. Angelo also joined a panel titled “Quality and Integrity of the Carbon Credits: How to Scale without Compromising Quality,” where he emphasized that we are seeing many new Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) Program projects being developed in Argentina. Since 2020, 25 new projects have been registered or are in the process of being registered in the VCS Program – compared to only five projects in 2019. During this panel, Angelo addressed the important role of subnational governments in this context. The government of the province of Misiones, for example, is currently developing the most advanced Jurisdictional and Nested REDD program to date – something that could be replicated in other provinces in the future. Verra also hosted a workshop titled “Development of a Project with Verra’s VCS Program,” during which Angelo and Diego laid out the main steps of the project cycle. They discussed the VCS Program’s rules and requirements, recent updates, and methodologies, as well as the Verra Registry. Verra staff look forward to attending future regional Carbon Forum events, including the #MexicoCarbonForum (August 14–15 in Guanajuato) and the #ChileCarbonForum (October 8–9 in Santiago). #CarbonMarkets #CarbonCredits #ClimateChange #MercadosdeCarbono

🚨 Breaking News: Innovative Offshore System Test at the FINO2 Research Station in the Western Baltic Sea 🚨 👉🏻We're thrilled to announce the deployment of next-generation, modular aquaculture and nature-inclusive systems at the FINO2 offshore research platform's monopile! 🎯🌱This innovative design marks a major advancement in combining wind energy with aquaculture and #NatureInclusiveDesign (NID) actions. ⚓️The new anchoring techniques allow for direct attachment to the monopile without compromising its structural integrity, unlike traditional methods that risk damage and increased corrosion. 🌊🌱This pioneering approach opens up new possibilities for integrating offshore aquaculture/NID actions with wind parks, addressing security and liability concerns that currently limit scalability. 🎯The special frames, designed for #macroalgae cultivation and nurturing juvenile fish populations, were deployed at various depths and equipped with sensors for light and temperature. These systems will provide crucial insights into their suitability for different macroalgae species. Conducted samplings of flora and fauna enhance our understanding of the far offshore biological community at monopiles, further refining our nature-inclusive designs. The successful deployment was made possible by the collaborative efforts of the ship's crew, Elisabeth Mann Borgese (EMB), IOW Group, DNV, and FuE-Zentrum FH Kiel GmbH. 👀Curious to learn more about how we're pushing the boundaries of innovation in this field? 👉🏻Click this link https://lnkd.in/dvkJ3Gvk to dive deeper into our groundbreaking project and discover the exciting future of offshore aquaculture and wind energy integration! #OceanMultiUse #SustainableGrowth #BlueGrowth #OffshoreResearch #Aquaculture #WindEnergy #NatureInclusiveDesign #Sustainability #Innovation #MarineBiology #FINO2 #EnvironmentalScience #RenewableEnergy
