How does pitching your innovation in the ice cold water sound like? Obstetrician and researcher Aura Pyykönen from Aalto’s Natal Mind project not only did that, but she and her team also won the Polar Bear Pitching contest in Oulu last weekend. ❓ Aura Pyykönen, how did it feel to pitch in an ice hole? My background in ice hole swimming was a significant advantage. But I couldn’t really feel the cold properly – it was such an exciting experience. All my concentration went into the performance, and the cold only hit afterwards. The experience was absurd and fun. ❔ What is the Natal Mind innovation? Mothers are left alone, with unmet needs. Mental health support is totally lacking. We want to provide a solution to support mothers and families. The solution we are developing is based on emotion tracking and psychotherapy excercises. Congratulations to the whole Natal Mind team including Annika Järvelin, Riikka Lemmetyinen and Henni Tenhunen! 🎉 Aalto TUTA - Aalto University, Department of Industrial Engineering and Management Biodesign Finland Watch the video https://lnkd.in/dACnqn2A Read the article https://lnkd.in/d_GnR73s #pitching #innovation #avanto #mothers #health #MentalHealth #emotions

Mindset and Character Development Coach - Inspire | Encourage | Build The Individual Behind The Athlete
Big message here!!!! We hear the messaging around being “obsessed” in sports to get the thjng you want most. But what does that really mean? It’s important to consider the downfalls to completely shuttting off all parts of life to a craft and not be ready for the toll it can have on you. Having a strong support system, sense of identity and self worth are EXTREMELY important when going down a road of pouring everything you got into one thing. All coaches and parents out there, help your athletes find connection to their whys as well as how they go about moving through their experiences. Then help them find those same sources of belonging, curiosity and skill building in a couple other aspects of life. It will go a long way to not just help with finding their identity within themselves and not only what they do, but also take some pressure off results/outcomes and need to prove and earn external validation when they realize the strength comes form within.
