It has been great to see LinkedIn newsletters continue to take off. In the past year alone, we’ve seen a 59% increase in the amount of people publishing newsletters on our platform, and that only scratches the surface on how valuable these are. Today, we’re introducing a number of new tools to help voices get the most out of newsletters. Take a read, give these new features a try, and let me know what you think. OpenAI just announced a new model, GPT-4o — its most advanced model yet with improved capabilities across modalities in text, video and audio. I tuned into the company's livestream led by CTO Mira Murati, who demonstrated a number of use cases, from solving a linear equation to translating Italian into English and vice versa. My biggest takeaway: Get ready for a lot more than 100 million people start to use #ChatGPT. Why? GPT-4o is not only going to be available for free to all, but also works without the step of converting prompts from speech-to-text, which means the conversation is as real-time as it gets. This, as Murati said, would greatly help its "ease of use" across a wider section of people, many of whom are already comfortable with using voice assistants like Siri or Alexa. Do not be deterred by those who see your relentless pursuit of excellence as an opportunity to exercise their insecurities. What they have not worked on themselves is not your burden to carry. They may attempt to bring you down because they need you to fit into a corner of common denominator in which they feel comfortable sitting in — or worse yet, they do not want you to create excellence because your success might expose more of their own insecurities. You can't control how other people choose to feel about any of that. Focus on being excellent, with integrity and dignity, which, by definition, means you and your contributions stand out. Don't hide it for anyone.
