Scientists just recorded the first-ever decline in HCFC levels. The Montreal Protocol is largely to thank. I published my thoughts in RealClear Energy on how U.S. policymakers can replicate elements of this treaty to address other greenhouse gasses, driving greater international cooperation while supporting American manufacturers. The Council hosted a reception last night to reflect on progress made and work to come in market-driven climate policy development. Thank you to all who attended, including members of our Board of Directors, Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND), Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IA), and Representative Scott Peters (D-CA). It was great to see so many representatives from across industry, nonprofit, and government. In case you missed it, Sens Cramer (R-ND) and Coons (D-DE) co-authored an op-ed making a compelling case for their bipartisan PROVE IT Act (Providing Reliable, Objective, Verifiable Emissions Intensity and Transparency Act). It's encouraging to see the Council's research supporting all-to-rare bipartisanship on lowering global emissions. “Data compiled by the Climate Leadership Council shows the United States is the cleanest manufacturing nation: ‘Goods manufactured in the U.S. are 40% more carbon-efficient than the world average. The U.S. carbon advantage is 3X that of China and nearly 4X that of Russia and India.’” https://lnkd.in/eHsXCwv9
