Medical Term of the Day: #MaxillofacialSurgery Maxillofacial surgery is a special type of #dentistry that corrects diseases, injuries, and defects of the face, jaw, or mouth. Specialized surgeons diagnose and treat issues related to bones and tissues of the jaw and lower face, the palate, and teeth. Procedures aim to enhance jaw function, relieve pain, and address a range of dental problems like chronic pain, #dental #implants, impacted teeth extraction, and oral diseases. Additionally, #surgeries can treat jaw issues such as bone grafting, jaw reconstruction, and TMJ disorders. #Maxillofacial #surgery is crucial for correcting congenital abnormalities, diagnosing and treating tumors, cancers, and growths in the head and neck, as well as managing facial trauma. It distinguishes itself from oral surgery by encompassing a broader scope of practice, including complex hospital-based procedures. #OralSurgery #FacialTrauma #DentalHealth #HealthcareProfessionals #physicanjobs #Healthcare Pacific Companies Follow me on X https://lnkd.in/grYnpHwi

Medical Term of the Day: #Thyroidectomy Thyroidectomy is the surgical removal of all or part of the thyroid gland, a butterfly-shaped organ in the front of the neck. This procedure, performed by #Otolaryngologists (ENT), treats various thyroid disorders like cancer, goiter, and #hyperthyroidism. Depending on the condition, partial thyroidectomy may retain normal thyroid function, while total thyroidectomy requires daily hormone replacement therapy. Medical Term of the Day: #MOHS Surgery Developed in 1938 by general surgeon Frederic E. Mohs, Mohs surgery is a procedure used to treat skin #cancer by cutting away thin layers of skin, ensuring no signs of cancer remain. This method aims to remove all cancer while preserving healthy skin, increasing the likelihood of a cure and reducing the need for additional treatment. Most patients can return home the same day without the need for hospitalization. Mohs surgery, also known as Mohs #MicrographicSurgery, is particularly effective for skin cancers at high risk of recurrence, in sensitive areas like the eyes, ears, nose, mouth, or for cancers with unclear borders, large sizes, or rapid growth. #physicianjobs #healthcare Pacific Companies

Medical Term of the Day: #ColorectalSurgery Colorectal surgeries are procedures that are done to correct a damaged or disease section of your lower intestinal tract. This may be a result of cancer, a malformation, another disease process, or some sort of injury or infection. This procedure is most commonly perform by a #ColorectalSurgeon Colorectal surgeries can be done using a variety of surgical techniques. Various Surgery Techniques There are several ways colorectal surgery may be performed. Below is an overview of the techniques most often used, and in which situations. #LaparoscopicSurgery This is the most common method for colorectal surgery, and the one preferred by many healthcare providers. It requires multiple small incisions in most cases, and most of the surgery is done with minimally invasive tools including a camera and surgical instruments operated remotely by the surgeon. Laparoscopic surgery takes longer than traditional, open procedures, but evidence has shown that this option provides better recovery and fewer post-operative complications. This option isn’t for everyone, though. People who have other organ involvement—like adhesions that spread to neighboring organs—or who have had multiple abdominal surgeries already are not usually candidates for laparoscopic surgery. #RoboticSurgery Robotic surgery is another minimally-invasive option. Robotic surgery and laparoscopic surgery have a lot in common, with both using cameras and surgical tools through a single or minimal incisions. This option also provides improved healing and reduced complications after surgery, in most cases Robotic surgery offers a bit more precision than laparoscopic surgery though, providing the surgeon with a clearer, more detailed view of the surgical area, and more control of the surgical tools. #OpenSurgery Open surgery is usually performed when minimally invasive techniques won’t work. This could happen when there is too much damage or too large of an area to repair with laparoscopic or robotic surgery or when the surgeon needs to see a larger area to complete the procedure. #physicianjobs Pacific Companies #healthcare Please also follow me on X https://lnkd.in/grYnpHwi

Global Client Operations Leader - Building & leading high-performance teams | CCPA | CCSA | CCRM | OSINT & FORENSIC | StartUps | FAA P107, EASA A1/A2/A3 pilot | “To have good foresight, one must master clear hindsight”
An appropriate way for the public (especially potential candidate students) to respond to #poisonivyleague lack of responsibility and morals in the face of growing #antisemitism by their faculty and students. This is also a smart financial decision in my opinion. Now that it became clear the (shallow) content and (lack of) quality offered by some #academia institutions, many students realize the ridiculous "value proposition" they are getting, and the opportunity cost for those hard-earned tuition dollars. Not everyone is on #terror supporting countries' payroll like some faculty members and pro-terrorist students who have their tuition fully paid. Hard-working families of many students must dig deep into their pockets and pay the average cost of a nice apartment for a piece of paper with, what used to be until recently, a respectable logo on it. Many of these families are wiser now - knowing what we all know. #publicsafety
Here it is. Your moment of absolute inspiration, from the wonderful Dawn Lisak Byck's daughter ... In Dawn's words: "This is the email my daughter sent to Columbia today declining her spot in their Speech Pathology Graduate program. While Columbia may be the right place for some families in this group, it didn’t feel right for her. I am so proud of her for applying to another program just days before their deadline and being open to change. I am very excited for her and can’t wait to see all the great things she will do!"
