Did you know that the audiobook was invented in 1932, and the idea for the e-book arose in 1930? But despite such innovations that expand the ways that we can enjoy reading, the average number of books that people read has actually declined, according to polls. Why is that the case? Yes, our days may seem too packed for reading a book, but the obvious reason for not diving into a book is that people do spend a lot of time on social media and streaming video (about 5 hours on average). Can you imagine spending instead some of that time savoring a book?
