It's great that we talk about diversities on their respective days, like today on the international womens day. I would love it if we also can show in the entire industry that we can act also, EVERY DAY! Did you know? Companies with more gender diversity are often found to be more creative and innovative. Numerous studies have shown a positive correlation between gender diversity in leadership positions and financial performance Workplaces that prioritize diversity and inclusion tend to have higher job satisfaction among employees Have you thought about Gender Bias and Stereotypes: Stereotypical views about gender roles can hinder women's career progression. This includes biases in hiring, promotion decisions, and the undervaluation of women's contributions in certain fields or leadership roles. Work-Life Balance Challenges: Women often face more significant challenges in balancing work and family responsibilities due to societal expectations. This can impact their career progression, especially in industries with less flexible working arrangements. Lack of Role Models and Mentors: The underrepresentation of women in senior positions means fewer role models and mentors for aspiring women professionals. This lack of guidance and support can affect women's career advancement and aspirations. Gender Pay Gap: Despite efforts to address it, the gender pay gap persists, with women often earning less than men for the same work. This not only affects women's economic empowerment but also reflects broader inequalities in the workplace. Networking and Visibility: Women may have fewer opportunities for networking and visibility compared to their male counterparts. Today we celebrate Mechatherm’s 16 strong force of women. Our women are making a mark at each step of Mechatherm’s internal processing, beginning with the research and development of our industry leading technology, creating our company branding and marketing our latest products, bringing everything together with purchasing and logistics, organising multiple international projects, running the finance department, managing the services division, and administering spares to keep our equipment functioning long after installation. In recent decades, we've witnessed significant strides towards gender equality in the workplace. Women are increasingly taking on leadership roles, challenging stereotypes, and making invaluable contributions to traditionally male-dominated sectors. The aluminium industry is no exception. For the first time in Mechatherm history, a woman takes a seat on the board, a woman is at the head of Mechatherm’s integral Services division, we have a female PhD in Mechanical Engineering researching our future product development and 50% of our customer facing shows and events team are women, each one bringing new perspectives and innovations to their role.
