Even when we look back, the ride is still jolting. And the joke was definitely not on us, as companies doubled layoffs in Q124 vs Q123. GTM Partners' research found that 57% of companies still didn't build enough pipeline as they cut back hard on marketing spend (without a counter strategy). We’re seeing similar marketing strategies and similar positioning from a lot of companies - saving time and saving money are not sufficiently compelling for buyers to buy. Nearly half of new companies may be impacted. Journalist Suzanne Blake just broke a story detailing results by Resume Builder that compiled survey responses from 900 companies. “In 2023, 65 percent of business leaders said their companies already had layoffs, with 25 percent saying they laid off 30 percent or more of the workforce…” “In 2024, substantial numbers of the workforce may be let go as well, as 22% of companies who plan layoffs in the New Year said 30% or more of their staff would be fired.” “When asked why the companies were engaging in the layoffs, half said the anticipation of a recession was a reason. We are not our best at Nectar In fact, we’ll never be Because we can always improve We make most of our client partners better and exceed expectations But it seems we always have at least 1 or 2 client partners that are pushing us to be a better version of ourselves They push us to devise stragies and implement tactics in new ways They push us to improve our processes and communication It’s not because we weren’t capable Rather, they just had different needs and expectations than most of our other client partners We already operate at a very high level But these client partners force us to get to the next level We often don’t make profit on these accounts because we have to put in extra work And that’s okay Because it levels us up entirely I think the first step in this process of continual improvement is having humility that you can always be better and improve We’re coming out of one of these rounds I’m excited to see where it takes us and our client partners #amazonagency #marketingagency #digitalmarketing
