Last Thursday, we had our very first Verve Ventures Climate Portfolio Day in Zurich ♻ . In attendance were startups, investors and industry experts active in this space. The event brought together several of Verve's climate tech portfolio companies. In attendance were neustark, Bcomp Ltd, Turn2X and tozero. Also remember to be kind and build your network. • 𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐠-𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐕𝐂: It is crucial to invest in long-term relationships with startups, so critical to develop deep relationship with founders and meet them in informal settings. • 𝐎𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐚𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐩𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧: the team are the soul of the business and the market must be big enough, but don’t forget to understand the operational models for strategic investments or blend personal engagement with analytical precision through data-driven investments. • 𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐢𝐧 𝐕𝐂 - remember that should know that you will get in contact with the successful startup of the future and that successful applicants are those who demonstrate their interest to the ecosystem through proactive involvement in side projects. #babyvc #diversity #vc #bootcamp
