Insightful post! Basically a weakened #Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (#AMOC) will result in reduced circulation of the warmer waters into the cold areas and vice versa. Which means increased storms (frequency & intensity) and a rise in sea level in the Atlantic. #ClimateChange 🌍🌊🍃

As president of the U.S. Geological Survey's Veterans Employee Resource Group, one of my mandates is outreach to veterans and those still serving and encouraging them to consider joining us at the USGS. The last data set shows that only 12.61% (946) of the USGS employees are veterans, while I know thousands of veterans are transitioning yearly. On the surface, USGS jobs appear to be only scientific and exclude most military-learned disciplines, but that could not be further from the truth! Many military jobs transfer well to the Survey. Some of these jobs include: IT, Admin, Safety, Sensor Technicians, Communications, Emergency Management, Water Technicians, Industrial Hygiene, Operations, Unmanned Arial Vehicles, Maintenance Techs, and much more that support the science. https://www.usgs.gov/ The USGS (United States Geological Survey) is a science bureau within the United States Department of the Interior. The #ArcticCouncil, founded in 1996 by Russia, USA, Iceland, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Greenland, and Canada, serves as an intergovernmental organization promoting collaboration and joint research in the Arctic. It has signed three binding treaties: Aviation and Maritime Search and Rescue (2011), Marine Oil Pollution Preparedness and Response (2013), and International Arctic Scientific Cooperation (2017). Despite the #UkraineCrisis impacting cooperation with #Russia, the Council remains pivotal for addressing Arctic challenges.
