I previously highlighted Live Nation's initiative to create VIP experiences for top fans, the importance of community, and D2C within music. Now, Warner Music Group is taking a big step forward with its development of its own superfan app. This move is massive in recognizing and monetizing the unique value that superfans bring to the table. In the 80's it was I want my MTV, now it is I want my live music. As someone who spent 5 years managing strategy and execution for music sponsorships, I saw the benefits first hand on brand awareness and consideration, and that was 10 years ago.
