How can #infrastructure actors and EU institutions work together to ensure a safe #internetaccess to European users? 🤝 We brought together experts from CENTR's membership, EU institutions, and stakeholders in the internet and #DNS space to addess these questions in our first fireside chat event entitled "Access & Cybersecurity: streamlining end-users' experience in accessing a safe and secure European domain space". 🎙 Speakers included Pearse O'Donohue, Director for the Future Networks Directorate of DG CONNECT at the European Commission, Peter Vergote, Legal & Corporate Affairs Manager at our member DNS Belgium, and Kristian Ørmen, Vice President Registry Services of our Swedish member Internetstiftelsen. The chat was facilitated by CENTR's General Manager Peter Van Roste. 💭 CENTR's Policy Director Polina Malaja said "We are delighted to have been able to host this event on the occasion of our members gathering in Brussels for our Legal and Regulatory workshop. It was wonderful to have bestselling technology and cyber security author, Izak Oosthuizen with us this week for the LMF - London Market Forums Technology & Innovation Summit. Happy to share that I have placed in the Top 10 of the International Institute of Communications (IIC)'s Future Leaders Competition for the second consecutive years for my paper titled "Addressing cybercrime in The Caribbean by multi-stakeholder collaboration". In my paper, I discuss the exponential rise of cybercrime, the devastating impact of cybercrime on society and the economy, and set out action points for all Caribbean stakeholders to collectively address cybercrime.
