IST’s #StrategicBalancingInitiative team members Ben Purser and Katherine Schmidt are at Fermilab for the Superconducting Quantum Materials and Systems Center’s annual Ecosystem Day and ribbon cutting for the Quantum Garage! While there, they’ll have the chance to meet and learn from over 200 collaborators in the quantum information science field from across industry and academia through keynotes, poster sessions, facility tours, and panels. Fermilab is a particle physics and accelerator laboratory within the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science, one of 17 National Laboratories across the United States that are designed to fill an innovation ecosystem gap between the private sector and academia by focusing on complex problems that require sustained, long-term development. This sort of creative innovation is a key part of IST’s #StrategicBalancingInitiative, which seeks to further American economic competitive advantage in critical technologies–including energy, semiconductor, quantum, and biotech–in light of increased U.S.-China techno-industrial competition. https://lnkd.in/g2eRHJeb
