It's Friday, and we are back with another riveting episode of #BrewingStories! We all know the magic that happens when a story is told just right. Whether it's a father weaving tales for his child's bedtime, a dedicated team member showcasing a year's worth of hard work during their appraisal, a visionary founder pitching her dreams to an investor, or a dynamic Sales/Marketing pro captivating their customers – storytelling is the glue that holds it all together. Hard work alone doesn't cut it; knowing how to present it makes all the difference. At The Culinary Lounge, when we craft Team Engagement programs for High-Performance Teams, we empower each team to not only whip up culinary delights but also serve them with a dash of creativity and a generous helping of storytelling. In our competitions, where we crown champions among teams, 'Storytelling' reigns supreme. It's not just about the taste; it's about the narrative, the heart and soul behind the food that truly elevates the experience. In today's episode, you'll witness Rachel and Roger from the Netflix team as they masterfully blend their org values and culture into their food presentation. They even drew inspiration from the signature 'Todoooom' (the iconic sound that accompanies the appearance of the 'N' logo when you open Netflix). For employees and leaders alike, remembering an organization's Values, Culture, and Mission is pivotal because it answers the 'Why' of their commitment. This understanding transforms them into engaged team members who consistently push boundaries to deliver their absolute best. Do you have any intriguing insights or personal experiences to share on the power of storytelling in the corporate world? We're eager to learn from you. Let's keep the dialogue going and continue to inspire each other, for it's the stories we tell that ultimately shape our corporate journey. #Storytelling #CorporateLeadership #Inspiration #employeeengagement #teambuilding #teambonding #teamengagement #Hyderabad #Netflix #engagedteams

🎤 | Host of Workforce 4.0 🎓 | LinkedIn Creator Accelerator Program Alumni of Technology & Innovation 🤖 | “Automating” Talent Acquisition via Curated Search Plans
NOT "Workforce Wednesday," but another hot take, nonetheless. This episode of Workforce 4.0 features nationally acclaimed author, Ray Attiyah! We gave a copy of Ray's book, "Run. Improve. Grow." away on this live event, but Ray shares some impactful wisdom through his own career journey and creating a #fearlessfrontline within a #fearless factory! This second episode of season two stood out to me because: ➡️ Ray gives manufacturing and operational leadership advice on the benefits of empowering their frontline workforce and tips on how they can create their own "fearless" culture. ➡️ Ray shares how his own career path (beginning as an Industrial Engineer) led him to utilizing and leveraging design thinking in HR and team building. ➡️ Ray shares his advice for both jobseekers entering the manufacturing workforce and for companies on screening top tier talent. What is your favorite take away from this episode? If you haven't listened to this one yet, it is up on both Apple and Spotify. As always, the link is in the comments. "I think that it's more important to have skills and wins under your belt than having that next title." - Kristin Dorsett So many of us chase titles and compensation and forget the value of growing our skills and focusing on mastery. I'm not gonna lie, this was my priority for years; I created artificial timelines and milestones instead of focusing on what I could take from each opportunity and grow in my discipline. In my latest episode of She's So Suite, featuring Kristin D., CPO at Viator, we chatted about this and so much more. She shared all of her experiences and learnings as she went from Public Relations (which also happened to be my major) all the way to Chief Product Officer. In this episode we discussed: 1. Building Teams & Careers - Kristin takes pride in building businesses and helping people develop their careers, leading many to VP and C-level positions. 2. Female Leadership - The impact of female-centric executive teams fostering a supportive and flexible work culture that benefits women in the workplace. 3. Increasing Female Pipeline - Strategies to boost the pipeline of female candidates, especially in underrepresented fields like engineering. 4. Balancing Work & Life - The challenges and intentional time management required to balance personal and professional life, especially as a parent. 5. Navigating Career Pivots - Kristin's journey through various roles and industries, emphasizing the importance of problem-solving over titles. 6. Remote Team Management - Adapting to and thriving in virtual collaboration with a global team during the COVID-19 pandemic. 7. Customer Centricity - The importance of staying customer-focused and solving real problems to drive sustainable business growth. 8. Authenticity in Leadership - Leading with transparency and authenticity, especially during challenging times like layoffs or remote work transitions. 9. Embracing Imposter Syndrome - Understanding that feeling like an imposter is common and manageable, even among top executives. 10. Cultural Fit - The significance of finding a company culture that aligns with personal values and rejecting those that do not. What a great discussion with such an inspiring leader - Listen to the full episode here https://lnkd.in/eERyaUAt

We delve into the nuances between a Product Owner and a Product Manager role, emphasizing the importance of defining the authority and accountability the PO will have. The conversation explores the essential attributes of an excellent PO, including domain knowledge, understanding business models, data-driven decision-making, effective communication skills, and the ability to navigate various stakeholder demands. 𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒌´𝒔 𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒚𝒔: • Clearly outline the level of authority and accountability the PO will have over the product's success, profitability, and decision-making. • Look for candidates with relevant domain experience, an understanding of the business models, and the capability to analyze the product's impact on the organization's ecosystem, including costs, revenue, and customer satisfaction. • During the interview process, pay attention to candidates who naturally share stories and narratives about their experiences, challenges they overcame, and lessons learned. Building a strong performance culture doesn't need to be complicated. Here’s how Sam Baber, SVP People at Kalkomey, broke it down for us: 1️⃣ Keep Promises: Honesty and transparency are key. Never promise what you can't deliver. Overshare all necessary data and keep communication open. 2️⃣ Regular Updates: Weekly business reviews keep everyone aligned. 3️⃣ Steady Energy: Create a calm, consistent work environment. Avoid the high-pressure, performative behaviors typical in tech. 4️⃣ Performance Framework: Establish a clear cadence and language for performance talks. 5️⃣ No Surprises and Frequent Feedback: Annual reviews should reflect ongoing conversations. Performance discussions should happen during every 1x1. So, if you’re having bi-weekly 1x1s, these discussions should happen at least 26 times a year. 6️⃣ Manage Expectations: Guide employees to pace their career growth. 7️⃣ Empower Employees: Help your team be their best selves. Provide resources and opportunities for development. 8️⃣ Inspire and Inform: Keep your team inspired and informed about their performance. The right words make all the difference | Author of “Leaders Light the Path” | Podcast “Irresistible Communication”
We can all agree that you never want to be in the bottom left quadrant. But surprisingly, there are strong proponents for the top left and bottom right quadrants. The genius who refuses to make an impact sits in the top left. They have huge talent and brilliant ideas but they are wasting their talent because they can’t get people to pay attention to their ideas. Worse, they almost refuse to get bigger attention because they insist that - “this is how our customers expect it”, - “WOW” is a trickster skill of the show-offs, - “getting attention” equals “click bait”, and - “great work will prevail”. They’ll never make it to the top right. In the bottom right sits the show-off who dazzles the audience but lacks substance. They are brilliant at getting their audience’s attention but leave them short of a profound insight. Worse, they almost refuse to make an impact because they insist that - “this is how it’s done”, - “how you say it is more important than what you say”, - “people are bored by the details”, and - “we need more bang”. They’ll never make it to the top right, either. Here’s the thing: Without attention, people won’t hear your story. Without substance, your story won’t make an impact. The point is that this is not either-or. You need both. WOW opens the mind. But AHA is what changes the mind. Keep lighting the path and make a bigger impact! #theartofcommunicating #leadership #communication
