🆘 I am hoping you can help me out... 😬 I have been fretting away at the economic impact of AI on digital learning content for a while now. I reckon it's a big deal (a revolution in fact) - or it will emerge to be one. As tools like ChatGPT arise that feel free to use for us as personal users, our perception of the value and cost are often skewed. In reality, these technologies are hugely expensive to develop and run. To say nothing of the environmental impact. So how are they to be paid for? ⁉ In our Digital Learning Realities research this year, one of the questions is "Do you expect to pay extra for AI functionality as it becomes available in your learning solutions?" Glad to see you're sounding the horn on this one, Myles Runham. I've been stewing about the environmental impact of AI for the last few weeks - what's the cost of all of our experimentation with making funny pictures of elephants? What will be the long term impact of AI on business costs? How does one AI responsibly? So much processing energy is being used - let's create more awareness!
