I am the first to admit that I am not the best at engaging on this platform, however I did receive a reminder today that I have been with Renault UK for 8 years.
Maybe because I've recently turned 30 or I am returning from my second maternity leave, this year more than most has made me stop and think about what I have done and been involved with in that time.
Professionally,
- completed a Sales Graduate programme,
- developed & sustained many relationships across our network,
- worked as an Area Manager, Sales focusing on performance
- presented countless commercial programmes,
- designed and deployed many incentives,
- redefined our leads programme (an ever evolving beast! 💪)
- lead & worked collaboratively across our departments & with our corporate colleagues on a number of projects.
- learnt more about technical integration than I think my brain can sometimes handle.
- mentored new graduates
- became a manager
- participated in many team meetings (& nights out).
- had the opportunity to present projects to key corporate colleagues and UK Board.
- negotiate new opportunities for our business
- attended & been part of multiple product launches.
These are just some of the things I can remember..(baby brain is real).
Personally, I've had many major life events
- I've become a homeowner,
- Relocated (twice)
- Got engaged
- Became a 'dog-mum'
- Got through covid..
- Most importantly, became a Mum 💓 💓 (twice!).
Its strange to think that when I applied for the graduate programme, I felt like an imposter - my degree (Law), wasn't linked with business/ economics/ languages etc like many of the other applicants. I didn't really know what to expect with the graduate programme, and it is even more strange to think that what sold the programme to me wasnt the content (although unbeknownst to me, I quickly was given a lot of opportunity - and support, particularly from the OG Northern Region ❤️) it was the people that were going to be part of that network.
Anyway, I've used my character allowance for the next 8 years now, so ill sign off with a 22 year old me collecting my first car.
25 cars later the novelty has not yet worn off..
