Learning Facilitator & Leadership Coach. Mindslines Co-Founder & CEO I help first time managers and emerging leaders rise through learning. Connect. Experience. Transform.
In many companies, emerging leaders are individuals with significant responsibilities, and not always with sufficient resources or optimal support from their organizations. This can lead to communication issues, difficulties in delivering assertive feedback, and challenges when managing different stakeholders. 😓 This not only affects the leader in question but also the performance of the entire team. A leader without the proper support can struggle to motivate their team and effectively manage their complex workload. Let alone suffer burnout and demotivation in the long run. I firmly believe that with the right support, leaders can overcome these obstacles and positively influence their teams. It's always a good day to be inspired by the words of Simon Sinek, and support leaders giving them the resources to help them succeed! #SupportForLeaders #Mindslines #inspiration

A few years ago, I heard a saying that stuck with me: “A shepherd always smells like sheep.” In other words, leaders must be willing to enter into personal and professional messiness with their teams. If I ever feel like I’ve become too busy or too important, God have mercy! There is something about being in the trenches with your people that is so beautiful, meaningful, and purposeful. Team members feel valued when you listen and understand them, regardless of what they are going through. 🎄🎬"Ever wondered what being a hero truly entails? "Do you know what you get for being a hero? Nothin’. You get shot at" - John McClane, Die Hard. In the leadership, this quote highlights a cautionary tale about the challenges and sacrifices leaders often face. Leadership isn't always easy or rewarding. Authenticity and character sometimes take courage. Something I honestly didn’t have early in my career. Leaders have to make tough decisions and take risks, facing criticism and even hostility. You may even face being “canceled.” Emphasizing resilience and perseverance in leadership. Much like McClane, leaders must endure challenges and setbacks, pursuing goals despite obstacles while swimming against the current of the status quo which is what most CISOs deal with daily. This quote also serves as a reminder that leadership is often a tough, thankless task, yet it presents the opportunity to make a positive impact and add value to others. Ps. Kudos to those who catch the flaw in this post 😏 Follow the hashtag or ring the 🔔 to stay tuned for future posts in this #ChristmasMovieLeadershipLessons series! Stuck in Change? Why Leaders Get Sidelined (and How to Get Unstuck!) Leading change can be exhilarating...until it's not. Many leaders get stuck mid-initiative, facing resistance, unclear goals, or a lack of buy-in. What are the pitfalls? Underestimating the Resistance Change is disruptive! Be prepared for pushback and address concerns head-on. Unclear Communication A confused team becomes a disengaged team. Clearly communicate the "why" behind the change. Lack of Ownership People invested in the solution are more likely to champion it. Involve your team in the change process. Ready to get unstuck? Listen to understand Actively listen to concerns and address them with empathy. Overcommunicate Repetition builds understanding. Clearly articulate goals and benefits throughout the process. Empower your team Give ownership and agency to those implementing the change. Leaders, how do you navigate challenges during change initiatives? Share your tips in the comments! #leadership #changemanagement #communication #engagement

Leaders often deal with numerous details, tasks, and day-to-day operational issues. The constant pressure to manage these details can lead to a focus on immediate problems at the expense of long-term strategic goals. The ability to delegate effectively can significantly impact a leader's success and their ability to maintain focus on the big picture. How are you doing in this area? One of the biggest opportunities we have as leaders is empowering other people to do some things we can do, but really shouldn't be doing. To avoid the tempation of losing sight of the big picture give someone responsibility for something you're currently doing. John Maxwell says "If they can do it 80% as well as you today, eventually they will do it better."....#novakdevelopment #leadershiptips #influence #beintentional #johnmaxwell #leadershipcoaching #businesscoaching #leadershipexamples
