Their liquid blush quickly became a social media sensation and their accounts are matching perfection. One of Rare Beauty’s strategies: UGC. UGC stands for User Generated Content: content made by real consumers and users, shared through online platforms, typically social media. For a brand, posting UGC demonstrates customer satisfaction and promotes authenticity from real users. If consumers weren’t enjoying your product, they certainly wouldn’t take selfies with it. Plus, it’s basically free advertising! You don’t have to put in time to create the content and still gain publicity from it. Rare Beauty incorporates UGC into their social plans particularly well. Their caption highlights the user’s joy and encourages others to purchase the product as well. This builds trust between the brand and their users because Rare Beauty creates a sense of belonging through involving customers. They also write “Tag one friend who’s always down for a @sephora visit in the comments!”. This is the perfect Call to Action for UGC content because it encourages that sense of community that fosters brand loyalty with users.
