Part 3 series findings include meetings held with medical billers and causal research. We've learned practices have ~$900 unreimbursed / non-monetized costs, per maternal patient. ➡️ Concerned and high-risk patients demand more time. Add this to our Parts 1 & 2 findings in the need to control increasing obstetric practice costs impacted by rising pregnancy, delivery and postpartum health risks. The American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology posted this study with a specific objective: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gqcZaK-a Findings: Significant reduction in adverse effects (thereby reduced costs) by using a proactive care approach with women having 3 or fewer births - being predominant. Obstetric team design requirements were clear: ✅ enhance team’s ongoing care capability & outcomes ✅ improve patient engagement & experience ✅ easily and affordably improve ROI & revenue/patient Our Emagine team has collaboratively developed and introduced The Journey Platform perinatal RPM platform and App. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gbFiGy86 #obstetrics #pregnancycare #pregnancywellness #pregnancyjourney #obstetricsandgynecology

#Pregnancy #Outcomes in #Patients with #Prosthetic #Heart #Valves in #SaudiArabia A #researcharticle authored by #Background: Pregnancies in women with heart prostheses are high-risk #pregnancies with increased maternal and fetal adverse outcomes. Advances in #prosthetic heart valve design and #anticoagulation have improved these outcomes over the past decades. #Objectives: To study the pregnancy outcomes in pregnancies with heart prostheses and to compare these outcomes between #mechanical and #biosynthetic heart prostheses in Saudi patients. #Methods: In this single centered retrospective study conducted at King Saud Medical City (KSUMC) between January 2011 and February 2020, we have reviewed all pregnant women’s heart prostheses.... #Results: A total of 111 pregnancies were reviewed. A total of 51.4% of pregnancies had bioprostheses, 48.6% had mechanical prostheses, and 64.0% of participants were obese.... #Conclusion: Although women with prosthetic heart valves have higher rates of adverse outcomes, they generally tolerate pregnancy well. There was no difference in adverse outcomes between bioprosthetic and mechanical prostheses. Introducing a bottle to your baby is a decision that involves careful consideration of various factors, including your baby's developmental stage and feeding preferences. Here are some key suggestions for help: 1) It’s generally advisable to wait until breastfeeding is well-established, typically around 3 to 4 weeks. This period allows your baby to become familiar with breastfeeding, reducing the likelihood of confusion when transitioning to bottle feeding. 2) Observe your baby for developmental signs, such as the ability to hold objects effectively or showing interest in sucking on fingers. These signs can indicate your baby’s readiness for bottle feeding. 3) If you expect returning to work or have other commitments, consider introducing the bottle several weeks before your absence. This proactive approach can help your baby adapt to bottle feeding in your absence. 4) Introducing a bottle not only provides feeding flexibility but also allows others to actively participate in feeding. This can be beneficial for sharing caregiving responsibilities and offering the breastfeeding parent some well-deserved breaks. Remember, each baby is unique, and there's no one-size-fits-all approach. Some babies may adapt to bottle feeding earlier, while others may take more time. If you notice challenges in the adaptation process or have concerns, it's crucial to consult with your pediatrician for guidance. 🩺 Caring Heart and Healing Hands For appointment: 📲 WhatsApp on +971562537145 or 🌐 Visit my website: www.drsanjaypedia.com 📍🏥 Fakeeh University Hospital, Dubai Silicon Oasis #DrSanjayPerkar #pediatrician #parentalguidance #children #bottlemilk #pediatrics #kids #parenthood #breastfeeding #developmentalstage #mothersofuae #dubai #childwellbeing #learning #MENA #dso #dubaisiliconoasis #FakeehUniversityHospital #FUH

The abstract of a study in King's College (London) with the Lepzi PLGF test was presented at the Bmfms Conference in Liverpool, April 2024. The study looked at the prediction of pre-eclampsia in 243 pregnant participants and the conclusion was: "Conclusion This study demonstrates promising test performance for a whole-blood, point-of-care PlGF test for prediction of pre-eclampsia, comparable to validated PlGF tests, recommended by national guidance. The promising emerging advent of point-of-care PlGF testing means that we are on the tipping point of a diagnostic adjunct becoming more readily available beyond high-income settings." This is an excellent endorsement for the Lepzi preeclampsia test as it offers the potential of immediate results when the pregnant woman visits her doctor or midwife without the need for centrifuging a blood sample or for sending it off to a lab and wait for results. The handheld reader provides results that are comparable to expensive central lab analysers. This makes the Lepzi test ideal for use by gynaecologists and midwives as well as in locations where central lab facilities are not readily available. The Lepzi PLGF test could be a contributor to the WHO goal to reduce maternal mortality rates due to preeclampsia. #womenshealth #maternity #preeclampsia #pregnancy #gynaecologists
