Listened Dr. Ilham Kadri and her view on leadership. Let me delve a bit deeper into each of these key insights: (a) "If an ambition does not scare you, it’s not ambitious enough." This highlights the importance of setting ambitious goals that push you out of your comfort zone. When your ambitions are truly challenging, they can motivate you to work harder and strive for excellence. (b) "Never waste a good crisis - take the opportunity to emerge stronger." Crises can be turning points, and they often present opportunities for growth and innovation. Instead of succumbing to adversity, it's essential to adapt, learn, and use the crisis as a catalyst for positive change. (c) "IQ is a commodity; EQ is what makes the difference." This underscores the significance of emotional intelligence (EQ) in leadership and personal interactions. While intellectual intelligence (IQ) is important, EQ, which involves understanding and managing emotions, can be a differentiator in building meaningful relationships and effective leadership. (d) "Invite diversity to the dance and dance with it…" Embracing diversity in all its forms, whether it's diversity of thought, background, or culture, can lead to richer perspectives and more creative solutions. Actively engaging with diverse ideas and people can foster innovation and inclusivity. These lessons emphasize the importance of bold ambition, resilience in the face of challenges, emotional intelligence, and the value of diversity in leadership and personal growth. They can serve as guiding principles for individuals and organizations striving for success and positive impact in an ever-changing world.

My most recent guest on Best for Women LIVE was Dana Kaplan, an advocate of neurodiversity, facilitator and educator, who talked about the power of being vulnerageous. We talked about Neurodiversity, how we can all BE a kindergartner at any stage in life, the power of BEING vulnerageous (vulnerably courageous), uncomfortable conversations and sitting in the discomfort. Dana's gave very clear prompts and examples about how to be curious, pause-and-reflect, and be brave in multiple situations. In particular, **as a conscious, thoughtful, compassionate leader - we have to ask ourselves**, “Am I asking this person to do something that they actually can do? Or am I something that I'm going to watch them fail?” Capability and capacity are two factors, but Dana goes further because we need to that mentality of “_let's play it all the time”_ in the workplace - if it's not fun, no one wants to do it. Challenging the opposites of thinking and building the ability and mental muscles agility to growth is never easy, as it’s easier to stay in harmony than entering into conflicts of objective differences. Chin up to disagreeing moments in qualitative thinking, as there emerged new path of success and learning that brings much more worth. When we remain closed up, we stay inward to limitations and biases - while views are challenged, there in scenarios and situations opened up to new learnings and possibilities, yet uncovered through differences.
