In a recent interview, NVIDIA's CEO shares the #1 way he empowers his people... Aside from showing his people "no task is beneath him" the #1 thing he does is show them "how to reason through problems". Showing someone how to break down something they previously thought was overhwhelming, and develop a solution, is incredibly empowering. 9 other ways to empower your people: 1) Delegate Meaningful Responsibilities: Instead of solving problems for others, delegate tasks that allow them to develop their problem-solving skills. 2) Provide Training and Development Opportunities: Investing in their education equips them with the knowledge and skills to handle future challenges independently. 3) Encourage Open Communication: Creating an environment where they can share ideas helps them learn from each other and develop better solutions collaboratively. 4) Recognize and Reward Achievements: Acknowledging their successes motivates them to continue improving and learning. 5) Foster a Collaborative Environment: Encouraging teamwork helps them learn from one another, enhancing their collective skill set. 6) Set Clear Goals and Expectations: Clear goals provide a roadmap for them to learn and achieve, fostering a sense of purpose and direction. 7) Provide Constructive Feedback: Constructive feedback helps them understand their strengths and areas for improvement, promoting continuous learning and growth. 8) Support Work-Life Balance: Ensuring they have a balanced life prevents burnout, enabling them to sustain their learning and productivity over time. 9) Lead by Example: Demonstrating the desired behaviors and attitudes teaches them through your actions, reinforcing the skills and values you want to instill. As the saying goes... "Give a person a fish, and you feed them for a day. Teach a person to fish, and you feed them for a lifetime." ♻️ Repost to help empower your network! Love this. I would add normalize failure. There is such a fear around making mistakes, failing or throwing out an idea that might fall flat, that a large % of people at work remain silent or just keep their heads down and leave the big ideas to “the guys that get paid the big bucks”. Leaders that normalize and encourage failure and risk taking, create an environment of free thinking and uncapped possibilities.

Teaching your team how to reason through problems is a game-changer. It not only builds their confidence but also equips them to tackle future challenges head-on. I'd add that encouraging a growth mindset where mistakes are viewed as learning opportunities can further amplify this empowerment. What are your thoughts on incorporating this into your leadership style? Eric Partaker

Empowering people is one of the greatest gift you can give them aside your time. It helps them grow effortlessly and become less dependent on you. When you delegate task to people, it helps them get better and it also help you become more productive.

True leadership isn't about having all the answers. It's about asking the right questions. When you guide your team to break down problems, you're teaching them to be curious, analytical, and resourceful. These skills ripple out far beyond the workplace.

This is great and thank you for sharing. “No task is beneath me.” “Let’s work through the problem…”. A great example of collaboration, teachable moments and grace. This is a wonderful way to express investment and foster growth in yourself and your team.

Delegating meaningful responsibilities is such an important aspect to surrounding yourself with a team that will accomplish big things. You don’t know what people are capable of unless you give them a chance to show you.
