Today marks exactly ten years since I joined SAP. (Side note: it was actually called “Ariba Czech” back in the days, but the transition to become a full SAP company was well underway when I joined.) As the usual post goes “it’s been a hell of a ride”… and indeed it has been for me. Truthfully, I believe that very very few companies in the world can offer what #sap offers - flexibility, room to grow, to experiment, to make mistakes, to challenge… and much more. It goes without saying that all of this is made possible mostly by the colleagues who make up this company. Many of them I can now call my friends, too. Having collaborated with so many of them across several countries and in different roles too, I cannot thank each of them individually. A shout out of course goes mainly to my managers (Alexander Sanchez Sam Barbouche Andrej Vaughan Sarka Fischerova Tommaso Rizzi Anna Ponza )who throughout the years have put their trust in me and allowed me to blossom. I also want to express my gratitude to those whom I was honored to lead in my time as manager myself. 10 years is almost one third of my life: it speaks volumes about how much I have given to and how much I have taken from SAP. I think it all goes down to finding this delicate balance (people call it “work-life” balance, as if working is not part of life somehow?) and to not letting solely your job ever dictate who you really are - but rather using it as a way to always ask yourself “how do I want to show up today”. I am who I am NOT “thanks to” SAP, but because of the limits my job has forced me to push, reinventing myself along the way and finding resources in me I didn’t know I had. Cheers to that!

I love precision. I usually do something according to my standards or not at all. I can't do much with vague or imprecise statements. One year ago today we concluded the intensive negotiations on our SAP RISE contract. And this required me to take a big step out of my comfort zone. For example, I had to learn that evaluating opportunities and risks in increments of 0.5 million euros can be good enough and the formulation of multiple assumptions makes a future perspective of almost 10 years no stable scenario. #DigitalTransformation #RISEwithSAP #NeverStopLearning #ComfortZone #Grow #SAPPlatform Since then, I have allowed for more uncertainty and rely on my strengths when dealing with new situations and conditions.
