Thank you to everyone who joined us in Auckland earlier this month for an engaging discussion on the latest trends shaping the future of HR. The event focused on and highlighted the latest industry developments that are poised to shape the future of the HR landscape. In today’s rapidly evolving work environment, the alignment of HR with technology and AI is a necessity. However, we’re also witnessing fascinating and impactful trends beyond just tech. These trends are shaping the way we work, lead, and interact on multiple levels. Here are some key takeaways from the event: 🌍 The flexibility of a four-day workweek is becoming increasingly popular among both front-line and office workers. Forbes reports that over 50% of front-line workers and nearly 70% of office workers are interested in this option, signalling a significant shift in work-life balance preferences. 🌱 Sustainability and social responsibility are critical for attracting and retaining younger talent. According to an IBM study, 35% of individuals under 40 would consider a lower salary to work for a company committed to these values, highlighting the importance of integrating sustainable practices into business strategies. 🚀 Millennials are stepping into senior leadership roles, bringing a new perspective focused on tech-savviness, work-life balance, and meaningful impact. They emphasize flexibility, diversity, and communication, which contrasts with the leadership styles of previous generations. 🤖 Advancements in AI are transforming HR processes by providing personalized recommendations, accelerating HR tasks, and improving employee experiences. Tools like talent intelligence hubs, job analysers, and AI-assisted interview question generation are enhancing efficiency and decision-making capabilities within HR. 📊 HR Meta-Trends for 2024 show emerging trends that include the centrality of skills in HR practices, the evolution of hybrid work models, increasing importance of mental health support and trust in leadership. Additionally, there is a growing focus on pay transparency and sustainability. The event underscored the need for businesses to evolve and embrace these trends to attract and retain talent effectively. Let's continue the conversation by sharing your thoughts or experiences on these topics! #HRTrends #Leadership #Sustainability #FutureOfWork SAP SuccessFactors EPI-USE APJ

Thank you Cecelia Herbert & Antonio Pangallo, Ph.D. for this morning's insightful Qualtrics webinar on Employee Experience Trends 2024: Decoding the 5 trends reshaping employee experience. You unveiled some critical findings on employee engagement, workplace technology, and the evolving office environment across the Asia-Pacific region. Here are my key takeaways: 🤼 Employee Engagement: India leads in employee engagement, while Japan reports the lowest. Cultural differences play a significant role, making it challenging to standardize across diverse regions like APJ. ⚔ Attrition and Retention: New Zealand faces the highest attrition risk, with the lowest intent to stay beyond three years. Conversely, Indonesia shows the highest intent to retain employees. 😇 Workplace Pride: Emerging as a powerful driver, pride in one’s organisation correlates strongly with a desire to contribute to societal good and customer service excellence. 🤖 AI in the Workplace: There's a blend of curiosity and caution towards AI. Employees prefer AI assistance over management, with comfort levels varying across tasks and regions. Australian employees, in particular, show skepticism. 👤 Leadership Confidence: Senior leaders exhibit greater comfort with AI, influenced by higher autonomy and trust levels. However, listening to employees at all levels is crucial for future workplace transformation. 👥 Diversity and Inclusion: Underrepresented groups show more comfort using AI compared to their counterparts. 👔 Frontline Employee Experience: Frontline workers, crucial in customer engagement, report significant differences in experiences compared to non-frontline employees, especially in Australia. 🚪 Turnover Intentions: A staggering 39% of employees may leave within the first six months, highlighting the disappearance of the 'honeymoon phase' in employment. 👋 Onboarding: A strategic focus on onboarding by talent attraction teams can boost organisational effectiveness and employee value realisation. 🎧 Passive Listening: The concept of passive listening through work platforms like Teams or Slack is being explored, with 54% of Australian employees open to this approach. Listening via Social channels showed greater resistance with only 36% of Australian employees in favour. 🏢 Office Return: The debate on returning to the office underscores the need for a flexible approach, catering to individual preferences and the integration of newcomers. If you would like a copy of the APJ EX Trends report for 2024, please message me directly. #EmployeeEngagement #EmployeeExperience #HRTechnology #EmployeeListening #ReturnToOffice
