Many of us are blessed with warm beds, secure roofs over our heads, and a support network to lean on. However, countless individuals in our community face the harsh reality of homelessness every day. Streamlining Your Workplace Supplies: Workwear & PPE, Furniture, Janitorial, Office Products and Bespoke Print
Personal post alert... and it is a bit hard hitting ❓ Did you know that the average age of death for people experiencing homelessness is 46 for men and 42 for women... ❔ Homeless people are over nine times more likely to take their own life than the general population. ❓ People sleeping on the street are almost 17 times more likely to have been victims of violence. More than one in three people sleeping rough have been deliberately hit or kicked or experienced some other form of violence whilst homeless. People have even been set on FIRE. ❔ The statistics show that one third of care leavers become homeless in the first two years immediately after they leave care and 25% of homeless people have been in care at some point in their lives. I am not only a care leaver, but have personally been homeless and at risk of homelessness many times in my younger years – so raising money for this great cause is also somewhat personal. All donations are so very much appreciated, and I am looking forward to seeing just how much I (we) can raise this year! 🙏

[Homelessness in Manchester] Will you make the difference today? I’m proud to be a Trustee of the Booth Centre, a community centre in Manchester run with people affected by homelessness. As our 2022-2023 Impact Report shows, we’re making a difference to 1,000+ people annually. Section 21 no-fault evictions reached an all-time high in 2023, with more than 7,400 cases being brought before the courts. Added to this, anyone receiving a positive outcome to their asylum case is served with a 28-day notice to quit. But our resources are limited. We urgently need donations to ensure we can continue to provide for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness - Breakfast and lunch - Training and help to gain employment - Support to improve health and wellbeing - Access emergency accommodation and to secure and maintain a permanent home And many more things. As an independent charity, we rely on the generosity of our community. ASK: Would you help us and donate today? https://lnkd.in/ea6P-iEx #ESG #CSR #SocialValue #SocialImpactBusiness #CorporateSocialResponsibility #Manchester #Homelessness

💡 Giving money to the homeless doesn’t always drive best outcomes. It may not address root cause of homelessness, potentially perpetuating the issue. Funds we raise provide so much more than just temporary relief—our mission is to end homelessness. Donations to HOME do this👇 🏠 Help homeless people receive shelter, health, and social services ⚖️ Prevent episodes of homelessness 🤝 Empower and support our public, private, and community partners to improve their response to individuals and families experiencing homelessness 📊 Track progress in preventing, reducing, and ending homelessness By supporting HOME, you are not only helping the homeless—you’re also aiding the journey out of homelessness 💚 You can help by making a donation at https://home.bm/donate/

20% of the Canadian homeless population are youth between 13 and 24. In Toronto, 32% of people experiencing homelessness will have first experienced homelessness before the age of 16. Challenging economic times have put immense pressure on charities like ours with increased demand for our services and dwindling resources. As we approach the end of 2023, a stark reality has become painfully clear: charities across our nation are grappling with a severe decrease in support, leaving the most vulnerable at risk during the holidays. Please help provide a home for the holidays by giving to the YWS Home for the Holidays Campaign, where donations will be matched up to $200,000 thanks to a group of generous benefactors. On Thursday 2nd March, Some of my colleagues at Gerald Eve and I are taking part in the LandAid SleepOut to raise money to help support young people who are homeless. In 2021, an estimated 122,000 young people approached their council as they were homeless or at risk of homelessness. The Covid-19 crisis has had an immense effect on all of us. This has been felt even more acutely by young people facing homelessness. Reports from the charities that LandAid support have mentioned that they're facing not only a homelessness crisis, but a mental health one too. The cost of living crisis is now presenting a further challenge. Young people facing homelessness need our support more than ever. LandAid bring the property industry together to support charities delivering life-changing services for young people who are or have been homeless, or who are at risk of homelessness in the future. Your donation will help ensure that young people are brought in from the cold this winter. #property #endyouthhomelessness
