I think the days of growth at any cost for software companies are over now. It's in the best interest of clients, employees and investors that growth comes while: - Being a mission and purpose-led business that does good in the world - Maintaining a healthy balance sheet and positive cash flow - Acting out your company values from the top of the org to the bottom - Winning on merit and always doing the right thing

Deel has been profitable for over a year. An outstanding performance for a company that was founded less than 5 years ago. Since I only recently started at Deel and still have the outsider’s view, I can see why that is: The business idea has definitely caught the spirit of the times, and we consistently focus on a high level of customer orientation. Our ability to use our customers' wishes to further develop the product is a key success factor. Equally impressive is the speed with which we get things done at Deel. We are extremely flexible and responsive, which enables us to implement customer needs in the shortest possible time and therefore stay ahead of the competition. Last but not least, the work culture is also crucial: Unlike many other companies that currently try to increase performance by controlling their employees, forcing them to go back to the offices, Deel focuses on giving employees a lot of freedom: Where they work and when they work. Coupled with a shared vision of changing the way of working, this motivates and spurs us all on to peak performance. I’m proud to be part of this company and can’t wait for what lies ahead of us!

You don’t have competitors. Even when you see people roar ahead in the fast lane. So next time you feel down about someone releasing a new product with 18K people on the waiting list, think about this: - They were exactly where you are today, a few years ago. - They put in the work to get the “roaring ahead” momentum. - They went through the same ups and downs as you are now. So all you have to do is: - See what they do to be successful. - Do the same stuff. - Every day. And a couple of years from now, you will be “roaring ahead” in the fast lane. Everybody starts from zero.

As I’m watching my 5 year old son use his available resources to entirely rebuild his city and leveraging a combination of different toys (who knew a keyboard could be a runway strip) with an infrastructure and supply chain, I am reminded that Innovation isn’t always about the next best thing. It’s about the problem, curating, and solving it. Sometimes, it’s about looking at the available resources that you have, and using those in a different way in order to accomplish the success that you desire. “Incremental innovation is a series of small improvements or upgrades made to a company's existing products, services, processes or methods. The changes implemented through incremental innovation are usually focused on improving an existing product's development efficiency, productivity and competitive differentiation.” #innovation
