Another week, another successful clean-up in Kenya. Our dedicated collectors are driven by a profound respect for the ocean, nature, and all living beings. Their commitment compels them to walk to the beach each day and start the critical task of cleaning up human-made trash. They recognize that nature needs our support to thrive. While significant days like Ocean Day bring much-needed attention to our oceans, it is equally important to maintain regular clean-up efforts. At MBRC the ocean, we emphasize consistent action to ensure our beaches and oceans remain clean and healthy, not just on special occasions but every day. #CorporateResponsibility #Sustainability #OceanCleanup #MBRCtheocean

Did you know? There are 3 actions that we can take on to assist in the green planet challenge. 1. Planting trees 2. Recycling 3. Clean up your environment Ocean Sole has successfully adapted all three. How? 1. Weekly beach clean up activities at the coast of Kenya which removes debris that would cause harm to marine wildlife. Also, the team at Ocean Sole regularly participate in cleaning up the environments in the nearby neighborhoods and forests. 2. Mangrove tree planting. Mangroves help sustain coastal areas and Ocean Sole has successfully planted over 1,500 mangrove trees and they keep monitoring their growth. 3. Making creative art from discarded flip flops, Ocean Sole helps to recycle material that would otherwise end up as waste in our environment. You can learn more about Ocean Sole at www.oceansole.com and it's never too late to be part of the mission! #climateaction #oceansole #sustainablefuture

Happy National Tree Planting Day! Kenya embarks on nationwide tree-planting exercise. This unique Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) exercise is geared towards conserving our #environment and a starting point for our future #generations to plant and conserve #trees. This program’s target is in tandem with the grand government’s mission under #vision2030, to increase the area under forest cover to 10% by 2030 and to sustainably manage forest resources for environmental protection and enhanced economic growth. The exercise dovetails into Kenya’s plan to plant 15 billion trees by 2032. To all carbon credits skeptics out there. This one is for you. A timely post by Rich Gilmore on how Carbon Credits are creating real and positive impact on the environment and how communities and indigenous people are benefiting from these Carbon Credits.
Carbon credits work. Not always perfectly, but they work. The Chyulu Hills REDD+ project - a partnership between the Kenyan government, local and Indigenous organizations, and global nonprofit Conservation International and auspiced by Verra - has: 👉 Prevented the release of 5 million tonnes of CO2🌳 👉 Conserved 410,000 hectares of the Tsavo-Amboseli grasslands 🐘 👉 Delivered meals to 35,000 children in 94 schools 🥗 👉 Provided 'transformational' funding to Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust 💵 The world needs these outcomes, now and forever. #carboncreditswork More information at Forbes below 👇

The Ozama River in the Dominican Republic runs through the country's capital and largest city, Santo Domingo, before reaching the Caribbean Sea. This urban part of the river struggles with plastic waste and other pollution, invasive aquatic vegetation, and excess silt, compromising its health, navigability, and safety. With its combined suction dredging, excavating and raking capabilities, the multipurpose #Watermaster dredger is helping to solve all of these challenges. Watermaster is amphibious and can operate even in the most shallow vegetation-clogged parts of the river.
